$30k is steep for a salvage title 996TT.

He always seems to have 996s from salvage auctions. Most of his ads just use the Copart or other insurance pics

Rainwater damage sounds pretty vague. The car looks decent but water damage scares me.

I considered looking at the Carrera S he has up but I find the ads a bit sketchy. Decided against it.

I figure if you get to the point that you are selling a salvage/repairable car on CL then anyone who knows how to fix these things has already looked at it and turned it down. The cars are probably hiding more damage than the pictures show.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. A manual turbo for $30k? Sweet! Depends on your risk tolerance. If it was a gt3, I'd own it already for parts.

Depends on what the definition of rainwater is. Completely submerged in the water I would run for the hills at $30k, this thing will never be right again.

I've seen this one pop up for a while now. The car looks good in the pics but I think the asking price is way off for a rebuilt title cab. I sold a 2004 cab for a detailing client of mine for $22.5k in the same market, it did have 60k miles on it but it was in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. I think this is a 15-18k car with a rebuilt title IMO.

I agree. I purchased a 1999 C2 Cab in very good condition with 78K miles for $9k because of the prior salvage on the title. It was a theft recovery with no damage when it was stolen but it still has the branded title. Unless he finds someone that plans on keeping it a very long time he probably wont get more than $15k for it. IMHO

If this pushes your buttons, I'd give it a serious look!

"Rebuilt title for a super light collision"

ummm, yeah, right. They throw around salvage titles for "super light collisions" all the time.

i'm not against salvage title vehicles but I wouldn't trust that seller as far as i could throw him.
