Out of place? It's attached to the popup spoiler which hasn't even been deactivated???
I thought the big Porsche sticker next to the fuel filler was bad enough, but that wing setup is just screaming "run from this car"...

Yeah, but it's got a USB connection to charge your phone. And a bitchin' steering wheel wrap.
It's really, truly a shame that someone has done that to that car. It is a very unique color and that car deserves to be a survivor. Time for someone to rescue it from the tuner crowd and return it to stock and enjoy it. When you go look at the 928 crowd, they really covet the unusual/unique color cars. I think the same will happen with 996s. Not saying this car will become a collectible, just saying from the perspective of a museum guy, this car will someday be welcome as a display vehicle and will draw a lot of interest. But not the way it is f'ed up right now.

WTF????
Never seen a wing mounted like that before. I think you need manly hands to grip that steering wheel too. But realistically, one could buy it and remove the rear wing and trade Johnny for his 997 since the 996 already has his beloved 17's on it and I'm sure the color suits him too. The thicker steering wheel pad also helps with the Arthritis.

As crappy as that things is, I doubt they were nice enough to use double sided tape or zip ties to hold the thing on. So you're probably going to have to replace the spoiler. After having that extra weight on it for who knows how long and lifting it who knows how many times, I'd take a hard look at the mechanism and probably just replace it to be safe.
Maybe the moron that did that thought he was being cool and creating an air brake like the Veyron. Might also check the brakes to make sure they aren't using iPhones...
indeed.

Also if you look closely, dude already has lower cubby hole but notice he cheaped it out with the 15yo flip up DVD player/nav screen instead of getting the more modern fixed nav screen double din unit.
I can also guarantee it will need paint correction as the pics he posted is from a local automatic car wash.

Wait - so the factory spoiler is still installed and wired - so you hit freeway speed and then your ludicrously large black spoiler is deployed as...an air brake?
That's some SERIOUS rice.

I suspect - but don't actually KNOW for a fact - that the actuators on the Veyron and other cars that deploy air brakes are somewhat more...robust...than the pistons used to deploy the 996 spoiler at freeway speeds.
It would be fun to install a kill switch into the spoiler circuit, get the car up to 150 or so, and then deploy the spoiler. Well, fun to watch, anyway - not sure I'd want to be along on that ride when the front axle suddenly got quite a bit lighter...

If the issue really is a cat, this could be rectified by a trip to the junk yard. Sounds rough, but what do you expect for a 911 with a 4-digit price?
Either this guy is in a TREMENDOUS hurry, or there's more than meets the eye. He's selling the car for what the engine alone could go for. My hunch is that "good" condition may be subject to interpretation...
