Got the PCCM+ installed on my 996 C4S... Getting the right brackets and trim pieces made install a piece of cake. Youtube videos and these instructions were a life saver- https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...79274-0001.pdf I ran the microphone from the OEM location in the gauge cluster.
Sound is so much better.

I installed (with help from a very gifted friend) a Sony AX-4000 from Crutchfield. I got the full installation kit and the pre-harness wiring.
I love the screen, feel, look, and buttons. It’s lighting quick with the Apple CarPlay wireless.
USB tethering doesn’t seem to work, which is a bummer. I wanted to customize background.
I ran the microphone through the trim up by the visor, and the usb cable down by the footwell.
I highly recommend this unit.

Has anyone with the seidocomm unit tried a SIM card ? I’ve tested multiple and can’t get the unit to recognize a card being present. Also does anyone have the canbus portion working ? Thx - scrh1

Been trying after market wireless dongles, but haven't been overly impressed (issues w lag, connection, etc). Curious how the built in ones are.
Wish the Sony units had a volume ****, but at least they have a physical rocker switch.

Really interested in the built in wireless apple carplay - any lag? connection issues? how's the sound?

So here are some photos of the Aliexpress unit installed and now running smoothly. Sound (to me) is good after having played with the settings. I have an OBDII reader app downloaded and a TPMS app as well, so this time hopefully I will told when my tires are low (I messed up a couple tires, I'm embarrassed to say ...).
This cost me a fraction of the PCCM + and has way more functionality. And it is android auto wireless, plus I retain my back up camera, with the option of adding a front camera, or a 360 degree camera system. And the design fits in quite nicely with the rest of the car.
Photos are from my tablet, which sucks ... I'll take better photos later.
And before anyone mentions it, yes, my buttons and HVAC light up in blue instead of orange.

@jim010 Do your HU buttons illuminate with the rest of the dash? I couldnt get that part to work (tried wiring to another switch's illumination wire but no dice).

Anybody figure out how to stop the rear seat back from rattling when the bass hits? Not even big bass hits, just bass in general causes it. If my rear seats are latched, it rattles, if they’re laying flat, no rattle.

Just went through the install today with my m680 dsp… boy that was fun. Had to ground the green/white 17 wire from the amp connector to be able to run the unit without the m680 panel.
one thing I still can’t figure out is how to get the backlight for the buttons to light up. They flash on when I first put the ignition on but that’s the end. Can anyone explain how to make this work?
overall thrilled with the responsiveness and features of the unit. I have a little feedback from the speakers… it’s like a tick tick tick and then when I speed up it’s static. Has anyone had to install a filter?

Got the lte cellular working. Needed a new SIM card as mine must have been too old. Recognized immediately and shows up with options on the radio now. I used my google fi SIM card and no issues.

I just tried installing the Ali Sadocom unit. I have the HiFi system. I left the HiFi plugged in as I have read about and still have no sound. I only have a yellow and black connector from my CDR220. I cannot figure out how to get to carplay. I have installed several stereos in past cars but this one has me stumped.
