I think this is a better deal than the PCCM + with more functionality and similar looks at a much lower price.

Great install mate!

Just wondering how you went with the stock time settings? I notice that everytime i start up the car, the time is wrong until i get onto android auto and then it updates. Not really a huge concern, but i'm just wondering if i can somehow make the time setting sync with the car... or do i have my accessory and ignition power settings wrong?

I have an OBDII reader app downloaded and a TPMS app as well, so this time hopefully I will told when my tires are low (I messed up a couple tires, I'm embarrassed to say ...).

This cost me a fraction of the PCCM + and has way more functionality. And it is android auto wireless, plus I retain my back up camera, with the option of adding a front camera, or a 360 degree camera system. And the design fits in quite nicely with the rest of the car.

Photos are from my tablet, which sucks ... I'll take better photos later.

And before anyone mentions it, yes, my buttons and HVAC light up in blue instead of orange.

You've got your constant +power, and switched+, reversed. On both 996.1 & 996.2 I've done so far, both had the yellow and red wires reversed on the aftermarket harness. This causes the head unit to reset every time the ignition is switched off.

So just swap the wires. if you want, check voltage on the constant + with ignition off, you'll see it has no power when it should have 12v. The switched wire will have voltage with the ignition off. Its opposite of what it should be. Swap them and your time and all other settings will stay put when ign is turned off.

The only thing I'm worried about at this point is the scalloped top edge of the unit on a .2 car because while the .1 cars do have the top edge as it goes into the center vents the .2's don't have that edge since it goes into the cup holders. Anyone installed this on a .2 car with the cupholder to verify it doesn't look silly?

I was worried about that, but it looks fine.

I thought yours was a .1. Could you possibly take a few more pics of the section in better light?

You'll have to wait for that, but you can scroll through the thread to see photos others took or theirs installed. I think Fazm has a .2.

Question for you stereo guys as I am doing my research, 2004 Targa. Just looking for a double din stereo keeping the Bose system and amp...I am looking at Kenwood Excelon DMX709S or Alpine iLX-W670 for Apple car play. Is there anything out there that is true plug in play with soldering a few wires? It seems the double din install kit require little trimming if any. But its the wiring with back up camera that require the most work

Here's what you'll need for a generally plug and play install with Bose/MOST - https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...l#post18955257

Thanks mate.. I tried this last night, and it still didn't work. the only way i can get the time to remain when the car is off, is if I enable "sleep " mode? But that obviously drains battery. Are you able to tell me your clock settings? I definitely turned off the "pull time from internet" (or whatever it's called) so I just set the time manually...
