IMS new detection speculation

Three Wheelin'
Okay, supposedly, there is some discussion on installation ease buried somewhere in the previous 31 pages. Umm...how easy is it? What's involved? I'm fairly adept mechanically but I hate electronics. On a 1-10 difficulty scale where 1 is a project for the average DIYer and 10 is one reserved for a certified technician, where does installation fall?

We're being told very easy. Maybe 3ish range.
You open your switch panel next to the radio with a butter knife and cloth.
(courtesy renntech)
You remove a blank switch cover with a screwdriver, then pop the IMS guardian switch in.
Then hide the box that comes with the kit inside the dash near the radio or under the dash somewhere and route some wires to the button (and possibly piggy back off another button or other wires in or under the dash). I'm guessing they'll supply compression style "piggy back" splice wire clips so you don't have to do any splicing, just snap them in place, or it might even just piggy back onto the switch with spade connectors, so you wouldn't have to use many of them...
The only hard part it sounds like is you might have to run a wire to the engine bay? That can be a little tedious. You can route it inside the car or drill through the floor if you know what you are doing or go through one of various grommets in the car.
That's about all that has been revealed so far.
I'm sure their included instructional DVD will spell it out very clearly.
We haven't been told where that engine bay wire goes to if it splices in or plugs into a new component that is installed.
Edit: here is the post from Jake about installation (which apparently only requires a few basic tools)...

After being presented with the tool list and task the Excellence Tech Editors have said they will rate this a "DIY Level 2" task.
We took a few steps backward this week in regard to the red tape associated with the development.. We have to gain a few more clarifications from our legal advisors based on these recent complications. Its the first problem we've hit in several weeks. Its keeping us from even revealing the technology to our study group, but thats OK, because we can't make any mistakes with the paperwork and etc at this point.
Trying to do this right.

Is a level 10 someone that can build rocket ships that go to the moon?.
Or some one capable of repairing a VCR?.
Id like to think I’m 6 or 7 but if its a rocket then I’m a 2 :-(

Drifting
Level one is getting the blinking clock on the VCR - not to blink 12:00, 12:00, 12:00 etc...

The site has no issues.. The majority of people have not had any issues with it, but it seems that sometimes Norton pops a false alarm..
There is zero info on the site anyway.. Literally if it wasn't for this thread and a couple of spin offs the IMS Guardian would be still under complete wraps until the Excellence article hits the stands..

Advanced
ims fail detect system...
How much time would it take to install this ims detect system? I would have my indy shop do it as I dont have the talent to do this.

James and I spent the day today working on some of the items related to product release. The Excellence article will be published in November and we are going to allow that article to debut the technology to the public.
We need the extra time as James' baby girl is due any day and he has been an instrumental player in getting this product out of my brain and into the hands of the buyers.
Our pre-purchasers who were selected for our beta testing group will learn the technology before anyone, probably within the next two weeks as long as the Attorneys give us clearance to do so.
