an "informed" buyer inquired on my car and after a couple cursory emails asked if I had the expansion tank replaced yet as he knew these were known to cause coolant to leak into the cylinders

is there a shake head smiley somewhere

I went to meet a potential client for lunch. As we were walking back to our cars she asked which one was mine. I pointed to my vehicle and she said, "Oh that's a hot car, is it an Audi?"

Well technically speaking I could have said, "Yes!" but I told her what it was and she said she obviously didn't know much about cars.

She was cute though so I forgive her...

Hi Ed, I hear you about the rain we been having up here makes for an entertaining drive! But could use a few dry days in between so that I can really drive it flat out on highway on-ramps and such.. crossing finger for some of those soon.. should be glad at least it ain't snowing it (yet!)

Ok, right arter I got my 996, I was on the way to an off site meeting so I had to wear a coat and tie. I stopped to get some coffee, and on my way out the door, two young guys about 25 are walking in the door and one of them asked me a question.

Him: Is that your Porsch?

Me: Yes, that is my Porsch-a. (he looks over at his buddy and gives him a strange look)

Him: Is it a 911 or a Carrera

Me: Yes!

Him: HUH?????

Me: A Carrera is a 911, but not all 911's are Carreras. (now I get a really strange look from him)

Me: There are different types of 911's. There is a Carrera, a Carrera S, a Carrera 4, a Carrera 4S, a Targa, a Turbo, a GT3, and a GT2. All of them are 911's but each of them is different.

(the guy looks over at his buddy, looks down at the floor, scratches the back of his neck and then looks up at me and says)

Him: NICE CAR!!! (then he trrns away from me and is muttering something to his buddy while shaking his head)

I had all I could do to keep from laughing before I got in the car.

I saw a nice new dark gray GTI driving today. It was lowered, some nice aftermarket wheels, just looked really tight.

Being nice warm weather today (sorry east coast), we both had our windows open, so I barked over "Hey, nice GTI" and he looked pretty surprised someone in a Porsche giving his V-dub a big thumbs up.

Met a good guy, had some talk, tea and seat time

check out the sun against the car, cool colors, (poor camera) Driving up near the mtns as the sun went down -
No animals were hurt in the filming and no laws were broken -

I think a new video camera needs to be on the wish list for x-mas
Thanks Ivan for the camera work (my son age 11)

Last winter I was a little PO'd at the service calls, and went to our local BMW dealer to shop around a little. The nice rep looked at my car and asked me "why would you want to trade that on a BMW?" Actually, kind of a good question . . .

the light in the pic is great as well, shows off the awesome lines.
