The ******* magnet on mine is currently not working thank god. Was getting real annoying there for a while. Usually the ******* magnet attracted the dude in the big *** truck that was heavily modified for 4x4 ing or some 50 something truck guy with a tuned truck. Saw more stupidity from these two groups of drivers this summer than i had in my entire life experience....

so this morning I was driving the 2011 GT3 RS (a friend) and we took about an hour little drive and some pictures - on the way back into town on a 40 mph stretch of road a guy in a Ford Flex came barreling up on my *** and tail gated me for about 1/2 mile till we came to a stop light and he turned
I was thinking WTF idiot tailgates a $100K+ car in the fricken rain - on a 40 mph road no less???
I tell you, there are some real brainiacs out there - be careful

Just came back from an awesome season ending ride up the sea to sky highway to squamish. Low clouds, sunny breaks, lite traffic, around 12c...a beautiful fall day on the coast. magent is back on....hockey dad in a dodge van...and pretty much any vehicle with washington state plates! Are driving rules in washington the exact opposite of everywhere else? Is the left lane the slow lane in washington? Just curious

I do my best to pass left and cruise right - since I am generally at passing speed and passing cars I stay left. A few days ago some idiot in an older bimmer must have decided to show me that he could go fast. I saw him coming, put my signal on to move to the right and thank god I kept watching him because he cut right and passed me on the right easily exceeding the triple digit mark. All I could think about was the potential disaster had I continued to move right.
I kept my cool and let him go, but got really ticked 15 miles later when I hit the bottom of the exit ramp only to see the same idiot directly in front of me stopped waiting for a break in the traffic. Like put lives at risk all for what?

In Colorado, it's illegal to drive in the left lane unless you are passing if the posted speed limit is 65 mph or greater. Unfortunately, most people here are idiots and don't know that.
I got my first speeding ticket in nearly 20 years a few weeks ago because I got stuck behind a Subaru going 52 mph in the left lane in a 65 mph zone. When the middle lane opened up, I went around him and unfortunately I did it right before the speed limit dropped to 55 mph. Waiting there to meet me in the slower speed limit zone was a motorcycle policeman. Ticketed for 72 in a 55. I still blame it on the knucklehead in the Subaru. I'm sure he laughed at me as he drove by at 52 mph...

Recently had a service performed on my 996. I asked the Indy to tighten the handbrake as it was not working unless I pulled it ALL the way up. So a few days after I picked it up (handbrake felt better), I was going out. My 7 year old is in the back. I back out the garage and pulled up the handbrake so I can get out and manually close the garage. As I get to the garage door I hear a loud "pop" noise and turn to see my car rolling backwards down the driveway, towards the street wih my 7 year old in the back!!! So I race to the car, got the door open on the second try, jump in and first press the clutch in a panic and finally get my hands on the handbrake and pull it up to stop the car. Luckily the car did not make it onto the road. And while I am panicking like a nut job trying to stop the car and my son from potential harm, my 7 year old is pissing himself laughing at me!!!!
I must have looked really funny to him. Luckily no harm done, and my kid gets to have a laugh at my expense

Former Vendor
Used a phone book as a booster for my 8 yr old daughter to ride in the Turbo (yeah I know, but it fit perfectly in the butt pocket; SPARCO seats are mounted very low for helmet clearance) - creeped her out because she had to sit on an advertisement on the front cover for carpenter ants - vicious looking *cartoon* carpenter ants! That was a funny moment......

Yesterday I had a pretty full Porsche day:
I met a track buddy who is an emerging 997 driver for breakfast - I then tossed him my keys and gave him a chance to try out my car. There were a couple of shifts that made my heart almost fall out but overall no problems. Not smooth but that is to a little expected on a first drive - a 915 takes some "learning" - he drove for about 1/2 hour. We stood outside the car in the parking lot and i could see the wheels turning - MAN, this thing is FUN to drive!!
right!
I think we will do that again - he seemed to really enjoy the heck out of it
After that I had a meeting to go to:
I am happy to report the 2013 season DE Planning meeting has been completed and we have a great season scheduled for you guys. All you North Westerners get ready, come out and see what's going on. We picked great dates (not official yet, so no posting of dates - but they are excellent)
There has been a lot of talk about re-paving 7 through 9 at PR and we are putting the pressure on them.
I wont go into the details but will tell you we are putting pressure on them.
We are also making a couple changes to help "grow the sport" including opening up the "guest" function where you can bring a guest for a very very low price and they can get a ride with an instructor for a "taste" of the DE events - these will be limited in numbers and obviously first come first serve but a great chance to bring a friend who may be on the fence about "racing" (we all know DE's are about as far from racing as McDonalds is from "good food" but you know how people on the "outside" think)
I will be working on the 2013 Tech form this month so that should be up on the website by mid/late Dec. Start thinking about that, our first track date will not be as early as last year though so no rush.
other than that I think its a fairly normal season so the other changes will be more subtle and behind the scenes - (having to do with organizing events)
I hope to see some new faces this year and see all my usual suspects out there!!
