So, for the past few weeks or so, when I first start up the car in the morning and back it out of my garage, I've been hearing this clicking sound. Not quite a rattle, not quite a clunk,, just a strange pop-click.

Only for the first few seconds as I back out, and only in the morning. It's been bothering me. When I get out to get a better listen, the sound stops. I'm wondering, Is it a harbinger of doom????

This morning, I discovered the cause. The tree next to my driveway has been dropping beechnuts early this year, and as such, they are not opened up as usual. When I run over them, they make a popping sound. It's only the P-car that backs into the area with the beechnuts on the driveway as I exit the garage and turn leave the driveway. Crisis averted!

Drove part of the homecoming court in my Boxster S at halftime during a local homecoming football game Friday night- wife spent all day detailing it; even took the wheels off to clean them (was replacing the pads anyhow); looked absolutely incredible. Was amazed to hear so many of the high school kids gushing so amazed that there was actually a Porsche there! I guess I'm just so complacent to it I don't appreciate what I've got, but those high school kids certainly seemed to appreciate it I was kinda surprised the rest of the cars were so pedestrian, to be quite honest. The couple I escorted thought it was a dealer car and were REALLY surprised when I told them it was my daily driver and had 100k miles on it, lol

Just realized I might be have seemed like one of those............ Nice day to go for a drive on the twisty country back roads and I end up adventuring on a road I rarely take. Just as I go through a nice set of twisties I can feel, and hear, thunder up ahead. I speed up in hopes of getting a glance of what could be making that glorious sound. The PSE on my car is singing but I still hear this amazing thunder up ahead and I finally catch sight of an A/C Cobra. So I speed up to get a closer look but this guy just keeps upping the anti, and he can certainly drive. As I get close to my street he is slowing down and I suddenly realize that this guy probably thinks I am a real jerk trying to show him my Porsche; and then he makes a hard left and smokes his tires up his driveway. I wanted to follow him and let him know that I am not a total hole, after all we are practically neighbors, but I decide not to chance it. I ended up laughing at myself because of all the times I assume that a driver trying to close the distance on my tail is a jerk.

I've been advertising my 964 for sale. A local guy saw it on Pelican and called me almost every night for a week and then showed up Saturday. After looking over the car and some haggling, he wanted to buy the car. We signed a bill of sale and he was going to pick up the car on Tuesday.

He called me Monday to back out of the deal with some bull**** excuse about not being able to break a mutual fund.

That happens. Maybe it was true or he found another cheaper. Whichever way, you still own a nice 964. Good luck with the future sale.

Pulled up at subway for a quick bite tonight, and this little girl, must have been 7 or 8, getting into her moms car says 'nice car.' Great feeling, nice kid.

Driving behind a school bus yesterday and saw one of the boys in the back looking rearward, bouncing around excitedly in his seat, and gesturing to his bus mates. Ended up a bit closer as the bus was turning off at an intersection and the little guy looks back at the car, smiles widely, and gives me a huge thumbs up.

Wife and I were shopping at a furniture store. The sales associate helping us told us an 8 year old boy was in the store when we pulled up. He had a car book and was showing her all kinds of exotic cars. She said to the boy "did you see the porsche outside?". He looks and then proceeds to find a porsche in his book and tells her "Wow! What a car. I want that guys autograph"

I wish the boy was still in the store but he had left already. It was funny and put a smile on face.

Yesterday, an older gentleman in airport shuttle bus pulls up next to me at stoplight. Tells me the date he has later that evening would go "allot better" if I would let him borrow my car. Promised to have it back by midnight =)

Before anyone tells me it is the aural speed limiter, it is not. The chime is the same one you get when the seat belt is not engaged at low speed, except it only happens when you exceed 71 mph.

How's that for a top end to a GT3?

At least I won't be speeding on the highways.
???Not sure I get this post? You can disable the gong or change the speed at which it engages.

The OP answered this in another thread; his car is believing that the rear spoiler should deploy, except the GT3 has a fixed spoiler. Sounded like the problem was identified but still seeking a solution.

This morning I pulled into the local Starbucks drive thru for some morning motivation.

I got to the window and the coffee ditz asks me; 'what kind of car is that?' I answer, 'it's a Carrera.' Coffee ditz, 'oh, like a Mazda?' Me; 'yep, like a Mazda.'

I do believe that I may actually have the only red Mazda Carrera in my area.

Truly LMAO - has me remembering a few nights ago when I had just pulled in the driveway and was outside of the car talking to my son, when a post middle aged guy rides by on a bicycle, turns around and comes back to ask if my car is a Ferrari. I say no, it's a Porsche. He says a what? - it looks like a Maserati. I smile politely and say no, it's a Porsche. He shakes his head and says oh, well it's a good looking car anyway cause it made me turn around to make sure what it was - and off he pedaled. Porsche, the shape shifter, or it is whatever you want it to be.

Many weird things happen here:
1. A boxster driver, coming from the opposite direction and driving in rush-hour-traffic starts flipping me off and yelling out of his window (couldn't hear what) at me. FOrgets to break and crashes into the car in front of him.
2. Very heavy rain in the evening, barely can see anything. Road is empty, except a Jeep coming up behind me on the right lane. He is fast, I am going 50 (again, very heavy rain, on service road), he is going much faster. All of sudden he decelerates and starts tagging me, driving at the same speed right next to me. Can't see much except some additional light on the right lane. We come to a stop sign, he opens his window, throws something on my cab cover and accelerates like made. Milliseconds later he loses control and lands in the ditch.
