Local high school put out a call for convertibles for their homecoming parade, and my wife volunteered us. She detailed our boxster s (never looked better!) and drove around the track with the sophomore king & queen. There was another boxster, but we were the only porsches there- the rest of the cars were a random smattering of far less sporty convertibles. Was amazing how many compliments we got about the car. And then while I was up in the stands with my kids, I heard quite a few people talking about "the porsches"

May be mundane to us, but porsches are exotic to a lot of other people!

Default Code reader = Saver of $$

I am currently having some clunking, rough running during initial start up and then from clutch engagement on 1st gear. Many of you have offered great suggestion as to what may be happening (old thread here).

Yesterday as I was 30 mins in to a 2.5 hour trip - the CEL illuminated! "Yikes!" I thought - those guys on Rennlist told me that this may happen.

Fortunately, I had stored away in the armrest, my trusty CEL reader. I pulled over, turned engine off, plugged the reader in, turn ignition on and viola!

Code P0442 pops up. I quickly research the code on my smart phone and the "Evaporative Emission System Leak" detected turns out to be a simple fix. Apparently, I did not tighten quite enough, the gas cap when I filled up the night before.

A quick tighten, a reset of the CEL from the code reader and I'm on my way again!!

I think if I didn't have the Code Reader I would have stopped, and had the car towed. Who knows what costs would have ensued only to find a faulty wrist-turn by me. Red-faced would I have been!

UGG - well....as I was concerned the B&B on stock headers isnt the cat's meow

sounds a little like the 996 by-pass pipes but quieter - time to think, more testing and opinions of other people on the sound, but most likely not the end result yet

I was stopped at a light, and I noticed the driver of the car immediately behind me fumbling with something above the steering wheel. Turned out to be his phone, and at first I assumed he was just texting at the light.

Then the flash went off. Completely stock car, but hey, it's just that cool I guess.

B&B - $450 shipped
zero drone at any speed I tested - light, shiny, fits all 911's and 996's and 997's and GT3's and GT2's I think
(fits 3.2 and SC)

WOW! 12 hours is a very short amount of time to keep a part installed!

B&B won't take it back?

Ed, sorry to hear you didn't like your B&Bs. 12 hours has to be a record for you.

Not sure how your differ from mine, but I love the sound of mine... a nice deep rumble and an occasional burble gives a nice distinctive sound. Here's mine.

Try riding in a car behind yours. Had souped up camaro that was deafening inside with fister D's that came on it. Everyone said it wasn't bad outside and it turned out to be through the floorboard sounds from comp headers that ran back past y butt. Others on here have found the sound proofing missing from the engine compartment area which would add noise inside. Then again it might just be the exhaust. Exhaust for performance not sounds
