some changed to the program gave the instructors a LOT more time in the afternoon - we use to let students run till they wanted to go home, now we are sending them home to help avoid them going passed the point of tired. This allowed us out on the course much longer and a much smaller group (read more time on track)

I ran till I had my fill - (read last guy standing, last car out )

cleaned up the track, shot the breeze a while and said our good byes till next year. I miss it already...next day must be about Jan 7th? for "winter skills" (calendar not posted yet) - maybe some snow on the ground, that would be a kick!!
Come down and visit. We don't have an off season. We're at the track next weekend, other times in November and December as well. If you do make it down, you can track the 3. Just sayin.

3 nervous days....

my car was running a tad "off"
I took it in before my Sunday track day and got a thumbs up from the tech but it still felt about 5-10% like something was wrong.

Decided to pull the injectors and clean them, ended up testing them in place and testing the electronics...all OK, no patter test but they all checked out as working...

next was compression and leak down #'s
172 / 6%
175 / 4%
174 / 2%
178 / 42% ---- WHAT !!!!

so after my heart started again.. I pulled the valve cover and checked adjustments.. all OK, from reading and talking it was thought maybe a piece of carbon got stuck in the valve during compression check...some work to un-stick it and went from 40 to 20 to 80 ! to 40 to 6... several retests and 6% it is!!

whew!
175 / 6%
179 / 4%

not bad for 180+k miles ehh....

turns out my plugs were SPENT! gap almost double. So new plugs and off we go.
Ran strong, but not smooth

to the shop...adjust the idle and CO%..... TADA!! smooth and crisp again

all I can say is new plugs CAN make a difference, these had been in 1.5 years. if your plugs are older than that I would change them....at least if it is over a couple years for sure!

man, that little flat 6 is purring SOOO sweet tonight I didnt want to even stop driving when i got home...

cheers and hope everyone's cars made them smile today and the fears were all small, easy to fix issues

yeddaday I took my kiddo to the second hand store for some Binders for school (they are $0.99 vs $8-12ea at a "real store"

while there I cruised the t-shirts (can always use good cotton shirts for work and our place has nice clean quailty items....sometimes)

I stumbled onto a PIR (Portland Int Raceways) shirt sponsored by my Indy shop!! SCORE, its like brandy new and cost $2 !!

cant wait to drive my car today, I wanted to drive this weekend but really didnt have a good excuse with all the errands and house stuff....so it sat in the garage....I am ready for today though

hope you drive yours and smile -

So... here is todays story..

Jump in the car this morning and take my Daughter to school, afterwards I crank up a live Rush album and get ready to enjoy my short commute to work. I come upon a Black Mk1 996 (A car near and dear to my heart) driver looks to be around late 30's early 40's. We have some fun heading up the highway (Nothing crazy), As I approached a few cars I slow down, the 996 catches up to me and I give him a friendly wave... and HE FLIPS ME OFF!! ???

Now I was not driving my 996 but a 6 Speed black CTS-V wagon that was loaned to me .. but that should not matter!

It better not have been one of you guys!

What the hell is that about?
