I have the PSS9s on my 99 996. I have had them for over 30k miles and almost 20 years. I can't say enough good things about them. My three kids grew up riding in the back of our 996. Getting to have them join you on car adventures is priceless.
^^^This. I've had mine (PSS9s) for 15 years of street and track driving. Today was another track day and they are still going strong.

How many miles do you have on your and how would you rate it?
I like them — but I didn’t install them and I don’t have a frame of reference against stock.

I've now got 1000+ miles on it now as I took it on the Targa 805 rally this last weekend. 200 miles zig-zag-ing across Central Coast CA scenery

Got to drive this other thing, it was my accidental BaT win that I spent a bunch of money and sold before even taking possession of. Sold it to a good friend so its in good hands now

Other Cool stuff

E36 M3 + SSR Type C

This VW was cool (TIC)

Lovely Olive 72 911

Volvo Amazon ( my favorite car at the event )

What a great find. I'm curious to know how much this was listed for, I probably would have offered all of the monies. would like to see some more photos of the ducktail. Who makes it, fit quality, etc.

Enjoy!.

Thanks Tom. Lets just say the price was listed as "overpriced" when I found it according to the website, but I knew the value and his price was firm. I didnt hesitate to give him his asking once the PPI checked out

The ducktail, like most FG parts required some 'finishing work' to get fitment good. I will get some more pics. I want to add some mesh to the inlet. That will require removal which will give me an opportunity to weigh it and compare it with the standard tail.

My goal is to get this car down to 2750# without anything major, and a wishful-thinking of 275whp with no mods other than the current 3.8L and IPD plenum setup

I have a 2400 lb e36 M3 race car with 260 whp, and it’s a blast to drive, but it is absolutely gutted. Having that power to weight ratio with a full interior and modern conveniences like windows would be perfect.

I’m also embarking on a lightweight 996 project with this car, and would like to compare notes.

Definitely! My goal has always been to have a true 'dual purpose' car that can be driven to the track, tracked all day and then driven home. Without arriving home deaf and needing a chiro appt. The closest I got was an E30 with an aluminum block M52 that made 225whp and weighed 2350. No A/C though.

This has to do all of that, and also take my kiddo to C&C events...

So here's what I teased in another thread and and I'm not even halfway done.

The seats are not totally asymmetrical as they have the seatback adjustment on one side. I wasn't sure which side I wanted it on, but quickly found out that the adjustment on the inside will not work. They also sit quite low, and though I had the option for some 'boosted' rails I think the ~3" they would've boost me up is actually too much. I think 1" is the number, but thats part of the fun waiting for me...

Anyways, I was able to take the stock pass seat out, remove the seat belt buckle and get a back to back weigh-in VS the assembled Recaro setup.

I also confirmed that the Recaro sliders I have do not have the seat belt buckle slot shown in this thread. I will have to figure out the buckle situation in conjunction with the height... Part of the fun!...

Also removed the rear seats so I have a ballpark figure of ~75-80# reduced just from the seats. Here is the complete setup wrapped up and thrown into the corner of the garage, never to be seen again LOL

Nice! I’m going the OEM route for bucket seats, since I don’t have kids.

I was tempted to get a single GT3 bucket, but just the one seat was going to be more than both of these Recaros, sliders and rails (and a Momo hub too haha)

Do you have a thread for yours for me to follow along? What are your goals? Have you seen the "CLR" 996 that the guy got quite light? Im not going to his extremes

No thread yet, but I will be soon hopefully. I suppose there are some weight savings with my latest mod since it is missing the center radiator covering and the tow hook plug

Recaro install is complete and totally worth it and a HUGE improvement over the stock 'comfort' seats.

Summarizing it all in a little video, but heres the jist of the cause of the delay on installing

Made a little video on my little Youtube

The OEM stereo has been quite disappointing but I wanted to retain as much of an OEM look so when I discovered
video by “The Throttle Cable.” I have a few of his videos saved, and this one was great.

Here is the collection of audio equipment

Quite a difference between the old and the new.

That said, these are still just 4” speakers so I wasn’t expecting a world of a difference but overall I’m much happier with the audio. Goal was to get it done before heading to the Cars & Coffee at Porsche of Santa Clarita. It’s a bit of a drive so having the improved audio was the goal and I’m glad I did it. That said, I went out this morning and the c&c was cool, the dealership is amazing with its gems hiding downstairs

I’ve also parts have been ordered from Pelican, so stay tuned for that update because it will be quite boring
