Maybe someone here knows some clever folk from Porsche dealership who would know what and where to look for that update file. Guys at my local Porsche center were absolutely clueless what am I even talking about when I asked :|
Honestly it's one of the poorest supported devices I ever had...

I spoke to my recent dealer as well and they were also clueless. I reached out to Brock (996roadtrip on instagram) who had a similar bug to me and told me he needed to go to a dealership that was also a classic center. He did some advertising work with Porsche and wasn't a simple process even for him. Poor support indeed.

I think all the posts I found mentioning updated firmware were from UK based forums
The op of this thread mentions Porsche gave him an SD card and instructions which he kindly uploaded. I'm not sure if they would work on US based PCCM+, it's also worth noting the OP is 2 years old so I would guess another update would have come out by now.

this page mentions a new adapter to eliminate white noise

hi, have loaded this and it doesn't do anything to resolve the random trip reset.....the clock issue that people seem to be having where the odo wont hold the time and continually resets after the user has set it....time has to be set from the headunit itself and then this will never happen again (i came from single din cdr23)....I do not use the onboard maps anyway so it was a moot point but the odo still resets whenever it feels like it...would love a fix a for this.

That's because it's an old update, the only one that has ever surfaced (being an evidence that updates are totally possible to apply without any porsche tools etc) and it doesn't fix the odometer bug.

I've been watching these PCCM threads every time they come up. I wanted to get one, but it appears it can be more bad than good. That is disappointing.

I mean - it's pretty basic (which in a car is both a pro and a con), but I like that it works seamlessly with my factory MOST amp and speakers setup and that it somewhat integrates with the car (cluster). It's just that it doesn't seem to be supported, like, at all by Porsche - what you see now is what you get. And because it's such a niche device, there's no third party (eg. XDA developers etc) support either.

I just changed from Lightning to USB-C iPhone and if anyone's interested - CarPlay still works perfectly fine with PCCM+.

I have PCCM installed in my 2004 C4S. It didn't not have PCM upon purchase. While I'm not crazy about how the dealership installed it (nor what they charged nee for the trouble) I must admit that the unit is functioning as expected. I'm not having any of the noise issues that other have reported. That being said, I was unaware that some of the NAV info could be sent to the dash. However, since my car was never equipped with NAV, I wouldn't be surprised if this is unavailable on my car.

Velcro is sloppy. Panel gaps between the upper and lower consoles are more evident after instal.

You can have it enabled via Piwis or something like that - proved and tested on my 2004 C2

Hello @Armitage did you have that done at the dealership? Or is it something a small shop, or even DIY can do?

Mine didn't have PCM originally but after I installed PCCM+ myself, I had my Porsche Centre enable the turn by turn in the dash with PIWIS/ As others have said, it take a few minutes and they didn't charge me for it.

FYI: I made my CarPlay wireless with the Ottocast dongle and hid all of it behind the centre console; works flawlessly. All you see is the charge cable coming out inside the storage cubby. No ugly connector box attached with velcro. Your dealer should have done better; it's a simple install especially on a 2003 and newer car...took me less than 5 hours and I was taking my time!

Same here: I used a wireless dongle, works flawlessly. I actually ran a splitter USB to some 3-d blank fillers and put them in the batwing, in case anyone needs to charge. But I use the hazard trim phone mount and charge my phone wirelessly thru that, while driving. No wires or boxes in view. I'll probably do the turn-by-turn myself with my PIWIS.
