should be a good one. no reserve, ending at 11AM PST.
Went for 65.5 on BaT in November
unless you are insane you don’t spend almost 70k on a car with fees plus whatever he spend in taxes and registration to all of the sudden discover that this is not the car for you. I saw the history way back when they installed the solution so the car was checked for scoring back then. I met a few guys that short periods after purchasing discovered that their engines were scored. Good luck to whoever buys this thing.

Some interesting variables. BaT vs. Cars&Bids, short term ownership, no reserve auction. Plus of course the great spec. I've been thinking that prices are not really drifting up anymore; this car could be a good data point.

when
you check on car gurus listings i
been searching for a Carrera S 997. Anyway seen recent prices
where if the state allows pricing history it shows you high and low. Also it shows you day in the market etc. Recently I saw a niece looking white Carrera S Aero where the price has been dropped by $5k. I spoke to the dealer and there is no service history on it only the car fax. Unfortunately it’s illegal in the state of Texas to put that
info. I
been reading a few financial articles that suggest with rising interest rates housing and
used car market are going to back off some.
A post on an e46 group got me thinking because someone asked what is better e46 M3 or 996 911 and someone suggested that the M3 is a better value. I think they both suffer from flaws that can cost big money although an engine replacement in the 911 will be more. However, I am seeing M3s with 150k miles for $25k, M3 Verts going for more than 911 variants. Obviously, there are outliers. I think it's partially skewed because a few years ago the 996 was at rock bottom which at the time meant they were an incredible value. I think they are fairly even in value, a few years ago the 911 would have been a much better choice IMO.
If the RE bubble bursts and 996 prices come down as well, maybe I can finally upgrade to a house with more garage space and get a few more Porsches, LOL.

Buy high/Sell low.......Maybe the BaT purchaser's spouse exercised a post purchase veto and forced the flip, or maybe it developed some sooty tailpipes and someone is pulling a fast one.....time will tell.
This make absolutely no sense.
Pay a huge premium on BaT and turn around and sell it on a lesser online auction.
And yes, the housing bubble is about to burst.
If you lived through 2008 you’ll understand the effect that will have on the car market.
At the end of 2008 I bought a stucco Kickerillo home that was in foreclosure, the community was lakes of parkway. It was a home that sold for over a million. I bought the home for $495k. The idea was to fix a few things and make it our permanent home. Anyway my wife never learned to managed money but she could pay for $300 haircut and high lights, $125 nail jobs etc, 3 or 4 Starbucks per day. So I said to myself screw it. Anyway at the end of 2010 I sold for $750,000. I really wanted it , circular drive, 4 car garage 6 bedrooms. Viking kitchen. All said and done I made $200k in a little over two years on an$500k investment. People have stretched themselves again it is going to happen, I’ll be waiting for another opportunity, now my focus community is Cane island, 5 minutes from my house and I wouldn’t mind moving there. It’s going to happen all over again. as warren buffet says be aggresive when others are fearfull. I love to play this game of life, its like monopoly to the nth percent.
