I'm starting to miss my 1999 911 with Aerokit. I'm very pleased with my 2003 TT, but the look of the '99 was just more to my liking.

Not a 996, but a price point on (apparently) properly rebuilt engines. Redone to a 3.8 with LN Engineering nickies, heads, IMS.

Basically nothing, as usual. There's little to no premium on any rebuilt motor.

I wouldn't buy a car with a rebuilt motor on one of those online auction sites.

I would on a forum like this if there was documentation. But no way from some anonymous seller sight-unseen.

I think at 31k that was a great deal for a car with a lot of potential

55k for this C4S at no reserve even with a graphite gray interior. Pretty strong money:

The 996tt looks great too.

But I agree the 996.1 aerokit look is tough to beat.

Wish we had gotten the 996.1 GT3 in the US.

I'm not sure if this is a repost or not but PCA recently updated one of their stories about 996 market values.

That article is on point. Except where it says that 996 values will never eclipse 997.1 values.

I'm pretty sure that they already have.

unfortunately 996s are not higher priced at the moment than 997s. Maybe if this thing with the classic coupe really takes off and If everyone goes for the cable throttle 99. In the article he paid $16, i paid $18, pretty sure I can sell it for at least $25. Not selling it, driving it.

Yes, I would think a rising tide lifts all boats.

The cable-throttle version will appeal to a sub-set of the market, not the general market of buyers.

The low point for a 996 is still lower than a 997.1, because when values were low people trashed them. But if you compare apples to apples in similar condition 996s have been selling for about the same as 997.1 recently. Maybe not yet, but if they keep on this trajectory the 996 will be worth more than the 997.1 very very soon... I don't think it will ever eclipse any 911 other than the 997.1.

Anyone see this months Panorama (PCA magazine)? Hagerty calling 996 "strongly outperforming" (their highest oversold rating). Also referred to the trend as "covid pricing in full effect". TBH, I found the 2-3 pages RE 996 pricing coverage to carry a bit of a "tone" which we are all familiar with (black sheep of family); maybe I was just being sensitive. Anyway; what say we?
