Prices Keep Drifting Up

I went to college in the 80’s
back then you have to go to libraries to do research, some math exams no calculators allowed, a lot of thinking involved, the first computer I ever used was a 286. Anyway and I’m being honest today I question the value of a college education, online courses and all that BS, you can pay someone to take the tests for you. Also Just think how much you can learn and how fast from the internet.

I took advanced statistics and 2 years of college level calculus with no calculators or cheat sheets with formulas allowed on any exams. Also programmed on IBM punch cards....those were the days.

I don't know if this one was posted already... but another "proof" that prices are going up... and sometimes... with "nosense"
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...carrera-4s-50/
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...carrera-4s-50/
- Lemon buy
- Exported, re-imported...
- 1000+ engine hours but supposedly "25K miles"
- Neither interior or exterior (look at the pictures of the ppf removal) would suggest that mileage...
- No original wheels
- No special spec or options...
- ... 40K

Not sure what to think about my 99 C2 manual coupe. Sport Package (including LSD and sport seats that the original owner swapped to Euro GT3) plus several other mods done by the dealership (Brumos Porsche) including X51 baffle, wheel studs, jacking points, and a roll cage (removed prior to sale), that I paid $11.5k for at the bottom of the market four years ago. It did have 89k miles, so not very low. Now has 93k. I use it as a track car and didn't feel bad about potentially putting it into the wall given my low cost of ownership. Now that the replacement cost will be significantly higher, it might cause me to be more cautious.

It was exasperating to punch a stack of cards and submit them to the Computer Center during the limited time allowed to students only to have the job FAIL because only 1 card was punched incorrectly.
Just made me feel like screaming, tossing the cards into the air and tearing my hair out by the roots!
LOL!!

I still have 5 slide rules in a box somewhere, including a circular one which was the height of "nerd cool" back in the day. I'd have to Google how to use them again, since it's been around 50 years since I last used them.
Actually, looked to see if they were worth anything on eBay but unfortunately they aren't worth much unlike some early Activision/Coleco video games that I threw away.
Oh well . . . LOL!

Too funny
I just found a 996 that I looked at up for sale, again.
Last July I contacted the owner, he had a basic PPI done at my request and I had a few conversations with him.
He was very insulted at my initial 23K offer, refused to counter offer and told me that he decided to keep the car.
I was mad at the time but in the end he did me a favor.
Much happier with the 996 I ended up buying
But I guess the current market has changed his mind
Just don’t lowball him
