Well done. 235s are for sure OK. 245 is tricky, but would probably work at your ride height.

I undid some of Flat6Innovations work!

I installed a new Porsche composite vane water pump and an LN Engineering thermostat.
The old water pump bearings were fine, but it was time to do it as preventative maintenance.
I also installed a new serpentine belt.

My engine carrier plate wouldn’t move far enough to get the water pump out.
I had to remove both cats to get the clearance.
I expected it to only take 2 hours, but it took a lot longer.

Next on my list is a new AOS (more undoing Flat6Innovations work) and brand new Bosch fuel injectors.
I also want to lower the coilovers sometime soon.

Why are you saying "undo Flat6Innovations work". Are you saying they messed up? Confused...

No they didn’t mess up.
Too much time had passed since they installed the water pump that it needed to be changed again.
It was installed in 2013. (About 30k miles ago)

Every time I see your name on the last to post in this thread, I think I’m gonna get to see that GT3/PSC2 wheel/tire combo on your car. The car cover looks nice though too.

Yesterday I replaced these leaky jerks.

Today I replaced this malfunctioning goober and had a long, spirited drive around to ensure proper behavior from the new things.

Excellent. I'm familiary with the radiator agony, but is the headlight switch difficult? I don't have the flexibility that I used to....standing on my head is a challenge in itself. Well done, BTW

headlight switch is pretty easy, I did it by kneeling next to the door sill with eh door open. The worst part is dealing with sticky, crumbling foam on top of the switch that dies integrates as you pull it out.

No, the headlight switch took about 15 minutes.

Last week I actually took it out and cleaned it with contact cleaner thinking that might save me a bit of cash. It didn't work. I knew it was probably the switch because when the lights did come on, they both came on. With the new switch they come right on every time.

With respect to the radiators, I'm thinking of spending some money of
these these
guys just to make the potential future replacement less likely. It was no fun.

I have a new headlight switch if needed.

Due to a long story that involves my daughter having my wife's GTI away at school this month, I had to take the 996 to the airport today. Dodged large chunks of winter muck and mess and made it here relatively un-salted, just to discover that the garage was almost full and I would get to park on the roof. Now I guess that I get to test the battery Saturday as it is supposed to be a high in the teens. Not exactly what I'm looking forward to upon arrival. Hoping that Sunday is at least warm enough / clear enough to get to my local car wash with underbody spray and get the salt off of it. Guess that is what we get this time of year in the tropical paradise otherwise known as central Ohio...
