What did you do to your 996 today?

From the pictures on their site, the vinyl looks to be 1x1 like my wing. They don't offer a custom paint option so the wrapped one might work best since Slate is dark.

Way before SOUL was even a thing, I did competition headers and X-Pipe on my 996 with a Tune. I felt like it lost torque pretty noticeably under 4000rpm. I switched to catless cross over pipes and found that it picked up that loving feeling over the X-Pipe in the lower RPMs. Did you notice a torque dip from the X?

I noticed a slight dip but not a lot.. I updated my build thread yesterday with dyno results and video.. I'd be more than happy to test the difference if you want to provide your crossovers vs M&M x pipe...

Just in time!
Power steering leak led to an unexpected engine out (middle PS line).
Since engine out, had Bryan at Bauerwerks (great shop!) do:
UAOS
Injectors
VarioCam Pads
New Pads, small chains, etc
oh boy. I knew I wanted to change these with 120k miles and -3/-6 cam deviations, but this was worse than I expected. I would plan to replace these on any used 996 at this point.
UAOS!
Bryan had already done the clutch, IMS, RMS, AOS when I bought the car in 2020.

Let’s see if any ideas about how to unstick the coolant reservoir in my 996.2(important distinction **)
it’s been pretty smooth sailing doing this common replacement. Some straightforward vids and got all the way to
….slide coolant tank to right off the holding bracket above and twist bottom up and right while top down and left.
NOT QUITE FOR ME. it slipped backward and is stuck in the corner on the holding bracket. The engine is as low as I can take.
it had been suggested that I may have to drop the transmission done to get things level and get some clearance. Man…all the vids looked smooth sailing…it shouldn’t require anymore so I tried putting it back in and starting over. It takes brute strength and I’m just wandering if due to the 996.1 tank being smaller than 996.2 reservoir is there more to do like
a. Lower transmission
or
b. Remove left side intake plenum…
Any suggestions community?
Beginning the slide right…
Misses the track somehow and ends up too far rear ward ..stuck in left rear corner…need more

Ipd plenum
After more videos about the plenum, I decided to purchase it. Bought it from Pelican using my PCA discount, along with a serpentine belt for my 03 turbo “the dark knight”. I decided to spend the money because I found out with my turbo purchase I’m also getting like $6-7k worth of mods courtesy of the seller. Headers, exhaust, down pipes, intake, hre wheels. Can wait to go pick it up next week.

You're the reason why I was looking at the Cypher! I'm going to opt for the CF vinyl for now and probably have it painted when I finally get a cup front bumper... the list of things I want is almost endless.
