Luckily I can return the former to amazon as they were obviously not used to support my car. Maybe I'll just get some ramps...I'm in a hurry because the car goes into storage Friday.
If you need a few inches you can use a wooden block or spacer at the jacking point to have the car lift higher.

My car is also lowered and i jack it up enough with a low jack to slide a block under the each wheel, now the car is high enough to use a jack with a block to get it high enough for the jack stands..

I had a similar issue when mines was on lowering springs and my jack wouldn't fit. I got 4 wooden blocks and drove over them and was able to get a jack under there. For more height, as mentioned above, place a wooden or rubber block if space is available when sliding in the jack. Another way was to jack that brace from under the engine somewhere.

You should also look at liftbars, makes lifting the car easier and the jackstands never touch the undercarriage, they go under the lift bars..

I do have a rubber puck I use for jacking up another car...I’ll try that. Thanks!

The good thing is that I took the opportunity to swap the wheels and tires to my storage set. So I had a chance to look at the suspension for the first time since I got the car in the summer. Everything’s actually looked awesome...solid and the rubber around the bushings was intact and pliable. The only thing I could move was the driver side front drop link at the top, so maybe that’s the source of my clunk. I assume the upper shock mounts are OK as the PO installed lowering springs recently, though since he left bump stops that were basically trash I have to wonder. The only other things were that the grommets holding on the ABS sensor wires were either missing or disintegrating. The having it stored at a local Porsche specialist and they offer a free inspection, so I know I’ll have lots to do in the spring.

Installed a strut brace that will likely make no difference whatsoever.

Yeah, probably won't feel it much but rumor is that it does make a difference and that, in fact, it was required for the 997 Cup cars?
So put that in your pipe. Plus easy and can't hurt.

Yup, those are some pretty dirty rads. Should cool things down a bit!

Only thing I did to my 996 today was put down the top and drive it.

Sadly, I had to deliver up my car for winter storage today It's gonna be a long 5 months. The last project I managed to get to was to install my new head unit. It is a Sony DSX-GS80. I picked this one because it has (a) a 4 X 45W amp, more than enough to power the four 4+ Hertz CX100 speakers I have; (b) it has a rear USB (which thus far didn't actually work with my iPhone grrrr); (c) it has preamp outputs for a future subwoofer (I will bolt a small powered sub in the passenger footwell, and I've pre-installed the RCA cables so I don't have to remove the head unit); and (d) it has a subdued appearance that fits in well with the rest of the dash. The amber colour matches pretty well with the stock as well (Red 26 Green 10 Blue 0 IIRC). I'll have to wait until spring to really dial in the sound and sort through the rest of the features.

Nice! I’m interested in the strut brace - what model is that one?

I got it from Rennline.

https://www.rennline.com/Rennline-St...o/SB62/SILVER/

After I bought it, I found what appears to be the same brace for $75.00 cheaper here:
