What did you do to your 996 today?

Before:
Final product:
Next in line tails and clear sides (still partial on the tail lights, going to install and feel it out. Saw someone else post these and made an impulse buy thinking it'd look good with Guards Red):
Should I decide to sell I've kept all the OEM so hopefully this will cater to a broader audience.

Since I had to put in LONG hours on Saturday and Sunday, I took today off.
I went from this:
To this:
Hub and 15mm spacer came from Carnewal.
No airbag light. (Gert’s included resistor worked great)
Somewhere I have a Porsche horn button that I‘ll install when I get a chance.
The horn isn’t working, but I think I know where to start for a fix.
I‘ll pull the MOMO wheel and Carnewal hub and take a look when I get a chance.
I had to finish quickly due to family emergency. (Mother in law’s yard guy has COVID and her yard needs mowing NOW!)
Oh, and I can see the top of my gauges.
UPDATE: Honk Honk! Horn works. Only took about 45 minutes to resolve.

I've been tempted to do the MOMO swap for a long time but really like the feel of my 3 spoke. Just wish it was a little smaller in diameter...I actually Have a MOMO Course on my speedster that never gets driven anymore.

Thought I’d take it for a spin at lunch today, but it is pouring rain and will likely flood our street soon, so I‘ll have to wait.
when I put everything back together last night I got the horn button crooked.
It is so tight that I have to pull the wheel to straighten it.
I think I‘ll fix that at Lunch instead.
It is bothering me even though I can’t actually see it.

What kind of paint did you use?

I still haven’t driven it, but trying it out in the garage it was a little wobbly.
I pulled it apart and then finally realized I needed a thicker washer underneath.
I ended up using two drain plug washers.
No more wobble.
I also found the Porsche horn button.
It looks a lot better!

I changed the engine oil and filter yesterday. Should have been a quick job, but there were issues. Firstly, I had collected oil from the filter in a mason jar so i could visually inspect the contents,, managed to spill it on the floor. Secondly, the filter wasnt correct, so I had to re use the old filter, which was only 2 weeks old as it was replaced during the PPI oil inspection. Third, the oil fill tube was broken, so I had to repair using the rubber neck down pipe joint from another thread. The good news is I got the mobil1 5w50 on deep discount from a local napa,, and the oil that I inspected was very clean of debris. Only typical tiny stuff. Next project, straightening out the audio system. Previous owner had installed an aftermarket bluetooth device and really hacked up the wiring harness. Im going to repair the harness, and install a bluetooth single din with small sub on rear shelf.
