That Turbo sounds wicked! Probably a bit sketchy to drive as well.

Was texting back and forth with the seller on this one. Fairly mint 97' Ocean Blue on Cashmere C2/6 spd with rare options (1b Aero kit, Motorsound package, Speedlines). No accidents, stories and all maintenance records to the original owner.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1997-Porsch...rdt=true&rt=nc

Sold for $51,500. Congrats to the buyer!

'96 C4S, 26K miles. Arena Red / Cashmere, two owners. Priced at $110K.

What do you guys think? Feels a little steep based on recent posts here...but I am new to the game.

I suggested, for his budget and his needs (the way I would like to use the car) to consider a 993, not a garage queen, since his intentions are to use it also for trips with his soul mate, but a very good, honest and well maintained sample of 993.

If I understood it right, correct me if I am wrong, a good 993 narrow body with manual gearbox with his normal average 80k miles is priced more or less between 50 and 60k, while the 4S version is 25 to 30k higher priced, right?

He is looking for real.
Did I post the question I the wrong place, please if it were the case, move this post where it should stay.

Been seeing 4S models with miles 80k or more for prices in the $70's

I guess it's low mileage. You'd just have to be happy with the suspension it's on and the exhaust it has etc because a lot of that price is for pure originality.

Personally I would look at it like the start of what you'd want to do so $110 +$10k for PSS10's, Fister etc and then it's just not worth it.

If all that had been done then it no longer original but depending on how well it had been done then maybe it would be worth that then?

No idea really, just speculating.

The asing price is not that out of wag for a low mileage wide body 993.
Considerations:
  • At that price (say you negotiated it down to low $100ks), you're buying a garage queen. It may need a few $ks to sort out nonetheless. Adding mileage will depreciate the car down to high 80's -- meaning $20k value drop for 20k addition to odo. If that is not an issue, go for it.
  • Otherwise, you'd be better off buying a higher mileage driver that holds its value. More importantly, you won't feel the ouch factor adding miles after happy miles to it.

I am always of the mindset “Buy the best example you can afford.” This isn’t out of line for a WB 993. Prices will only go up.

Great advice that I'm seeing all over Rennlist. I'm finding that I like the look of a NB more than a WB. Came across this guy

https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds...3/2414053.html

Guards Red C4, 30K miles, asking $78K, all original.

Current owner has only had the car for 9 months. Says he has too many cars and this one doesn't get much action.

At least $10K overpriced, should be closer to $60K than $80K.

C4 is harder to find though.

I agree, but make sure it is the best example for the price. I am amazed at the low miles cars that haven't been taken care. I was looking at a 30K mile 993 recently and the driver's seats looked like a 80K mile car. The owner said that it was in great shape for a 22 year old car, That would be a fair statement if the car's price reflected it.

Very reasonable asking price, IMO If the PPI checks out. The seats look a little more worn than I would expect, and I have heard some others express concerns about Florida cars (proximity to seawater/humidity causing rust?).

There is a low miles blue ‘96 Carrera that popped up today at Morong in Falmouth, Maine. There were no pictures on their website yet, and I called to see what it was. A salesman sent me a few cell photos - see below.

22k miles, $75k
Dark Blue over grey
supposedly “100% original” with batphone option
Obviously the non original chrome rims have got to go

Less than 2K miles in 10 years? Hmmmm
Why exempt from odometer reading for Wisconsin State Inspection?
