I'm a computer moron but this is one of the easiest places to post pics. Click on the icon in the middle above the reply box that looks like a mountain scene with sun (or moon) on left. It opens a "box" that you can drag pics onto from your desktop.
Really easy if I can do it!

The "parking lot ding" is becoming an all too common way to explain away Carfax damage entries.

FWIW, Carfax distinguishes between "Damage" and "Accident". Accident = claim that involved a collision. Damage could be anything else, such as a simple scratched bumper repair, wheel damage or a broken tail light.

The car in question above does not show an "Accident".

What is the mechanism please that a broken tail light not involving a collision would become part of a carfax ?

this site is slanted toward picking the "fly $hit out of the pepper" . These are cars are approaching 25 + years old. If they're straight, with great options like this one- prices are going up.

One where the owner put in a claim but there was no "accident" reported?

An accident (collision) is one thing and Carfax notes such cases as "accident reported". These can be more of a concern if it is noted as anything beyond "minor" (structural damage could come into play).

"Damage reported" could be someone hitting your car with a shopping cart, hitting a pothole, backing into something in your garage, your jealous ex keying your car or smashing your lights with a hammer, etc. No "accident".

Of course a tree falling on your car would not be an "accident reported" either but just pointing out that there is a difference between "Accident" and "Damage" on a Carfax.

I agree. If you're going to drive it then it's going get wear and tear.

If the insurance company gets involved then I believe Carfax will know about it.

No affiliation - came across on eBay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1997-Porsch...sAAOSwc3dgNi70

Granted it was lower mileage, but after seeing the dented C4S on BaT go for over $100k, I’m surprised this one is still around.

Seems like a decent price for a WB with 73k.. not a lot to go on though..

Funny, from the description: “LOTS OF NICE RENNLIST ALUMINUM INTERIOR BITS.”

Also from the description: No interior photos.

I’m dying to know what “Rennlist aluminum interior bits” are..

Think its a typo. There's alot of Rennline stuff in there. Floor pedals, door handles, etc. You have to click on the details to see the interior pics. Says its got PSS10s, Fister III, etc. Definitely more car for the money than the ones selling on BaT.
