Yes, it is. Marc has it specially thinned down by our trimmer to stretch easily around the dial holes.

Colin, you should really consider publishing a dictionary of "Regional Slang" phrases for us.
BTW, The leather wrapped dash is exquisite!

Dictionary? Me? People already accuse me of talking tosh so I doubt it would make sense to add more fuel to the fire (in bed).

Dash top is Alcantara with blue stiching, perfectly complementing the leather dial face. Apparently the term for thinning leather is "scrived" and involves shaving the back away to leave it thin enough to work. Andy uses this technique to fully trim entire interiors including switches, *****, instrument bezels, door pulls and the like.

Just read all of the posts on this thread. I'm reminded of a friend from England who said that there's the right way to do something and then there's the proper way to do something. I don't think I fully understood what he was talking about until now.

You guys at 9m are proper craftsmen!

Thank you.

I'll pass on your comments to the team, or you can tell Marc in person if you manage to catch him at Rennsport this weekend with JP & his 9m93 Speedster S.

Engine pretty much together, just waiting on a new set of plug leads before the manifolds are fitted.

I was pleased to meet and talk with Marc at Rennsport on Saturday. We chatted
about body work, painting, prep and England.

I hope you enjoyed your visit Marc!

Best
Mark

So Colin - the black oil tank... is that a stock one painted black? Powder coated / spray painted? Purely for looks or is there a purpose - because it looks cool, and I've got an oil tank with a bit of surface corrosion.

The stock tank is unpainted (I think) but since that's not the 9m way we have hit it with two-pack solid colour.

Nearly there folks!

Neil has been hard at work wet sanding and re-polishing the laquer for the last two days now that it has fully hardened. With the engine running all that will be left is fitting the new RS side skirts (which arrived today) and the rear bumper.

Looking good...

Few little adjustments here and there: new seal on the oil tank level sender, quick adjustment to the door frame alignment, fit the wheels....
