Hi Guys.
Gas cap is a 997 exclusive item and can be bought from the Porsche dealer. There are two finishes. Matt and polished. They look nice on the car but in reality they are light and only made of thin pressed alloy. Its a bit disappointing that there arent any nice billet alloy alternatives. I have a brand new bright red factory one which Ill likely change back too now the photoshoot is done.
Good spotting. Rear caliper clearance is 5mm. Have never had a problem with this. To get such a deep dish on a non turbo bodied car rear wheel something has to give - and in this case its caliper clearance. There is plenty of clearance at the front however.
Thanks Trevor. Merry Xmas to you too....
Cheers

Quick question:
You are running 265/35/18 on a 10.5" et54
What would your opinion be on wheels that would be 4mm more aggressive on the outside? Are your fenders rolled to their max? What camber are you running?
Thanks!

Hi. Im am running Bridgestone RE11 265. They are almost a semi dot tyre and have quite a cambered shoulder. With this configuration on a 10.5 x ET 54 the fender lips neeeded some mild rolling and I could get down to RS+10mm with no rubbing with a reasonably aggressive rear camber setting (over 2 degrees).
Since that time I have have the hubs machined to take off 3-4mm material. This gives ET 57-58 on a 10.5J rim. Now I can go RS -10mm with less aggressive rear camber and get no rubbing at all. Infact I doubt I would have had to have mildly rolled the fenders either with this offset. Same tires of course.
My advice. On a 10.5J rim 4mm more aggressive offset wont work without massaging the fenders considerably on the NB 993. If you are saying ET 56 on a 10J rim this might just be doable with the right 265 tire, some fender rolling and a big dollop of camber. But the most aggressive 10.J rim you can use would be ET53-54. The ideal would be ET 58-59 for looks and ease of fitment...reduce the offset below this and you'll loose alot of "dish" in the rear rim due to the need for caliper clearance...

Thanks Darin. With the Dach X catless X pipes these really are the icing on the cake! Cant wait to heat the sound :-), the RSRs have served me well 10 years but its time to try something different...

Ryano. You will be very pleased. The RSRs with the catless Dach X sounded wonderful and I can only imagine the stage II's will sound equally as awesome if not more so. They are loud but just within acceptable limits. Stage IIIs may be a bit over the top without cats.
