I believe the salvage company are trying to sell it for about double the price it owes them. Can't see anyone in the UK taking it on at that price though, as it's almost half the price of an undamaged one!!
I remember seeing this very car displayed new at the British motor show in Birmingham back in 1993, I still have the pics somewhere. It needs an enthusiast who just happens to have alot of the required spares sitting around already?!

That's ashame what has happened to "Minty" the rare 3.6 Turbo. Only one other known to be in the UK but never ever seen on the road. This particular car seems to have been well journaled from it's debut until now as it sits awaiting rescue. Will 9m step in to the rescue? The economics might say "no' but perhaps for sentimental reasons and because it is such a recognisable car, from what we're seeing on the Speedster build, there isn't a better group to do a proper documented rebuild of this car.

[QUOTE=dunavantent;7392637]My real problem...
I can't fit my girls in the back of my speedster. I have a couple choices.... Sell my speedster and buy a coupe. Turn my speedster into a coupe, or cut out an after market clamshell so they can sit back there, or trade it to Fat Cab for his car..
fixed it for ya

And..... moving swiftly back to the plot:
Interior trim going in this morning along with the new sections of sound deadening kindly supplied by Graham. Expect to see more rapid progress this week as we have a deadline to take the car for inspection at the DVLA (Driver & Vehicle Licencing Authority) on Thursday so that they can approve the body change from a convertible to a speedster. The saving grace is that they appreciate that the car is currently work in progress and are happy for us to take it on a trailer.

I don't understand why you guys would install the dash with that lovely new silver stitching before you have finished the wiring, front screen, carpets etc? Surely your tempting fate with any grease / dirt / glue getting on the stitching - especially when its such an easy install at the end??
really a huge job
but certain things are done in a "strange/wrong" way and without following the originality 'of Porsche. This is' a pity for me.
Some constructive criticism then ... seems not to be heard!
We follow how it ends

Colin, what are those two black thingy's laying on top of the dash? I'm guessing Speedster-unique trim plugs for the forward corners of the dash pad to access windshield bolts ....

The Speedster also has an additional cover for the bolt which holds down the screen at the front, here's a few shots of the bolt through the screen and the cover in place and on top of the dash.

They were the end trims of the dash top, Robin has fitted them now as seen in the first photo.
