It's interesting to me that now we are at the 11th hour of the build it's only the cosmetic details which are attracting the most attention and provoking some quite strong opinions from you all. This is all good, debating about how to detail finish a car is always controvertial but I'm pleased to see that the suggestions you are all making are both healthy & constructive, so I have no doubt that Graham will take them all on board (before ignoring them ). As the builder I will naturally have to stay completely impartial in this debate because it has to be the customer who makes the decisions about how he wants his car to look - otherwise we could easily get into a situation where we take the can for something that does not quite "work" and hence have to change it at our own expense.

Moving swiftly on, MC and Robin have the doors on and partially assembled, rear bumper is in place, rear arches have been waxoyled underneath & the rear arch liners will be final fitted by now.

A fantastic project. Thanks for having the courage to show us the process.
A great colour but I’ll take mine in slate grey with matching Cup 2’s, black leather, tiptronic box, LHD, and amber lenses for a bit of contrast in order not to look toooo monolithic.
Graham, the DVLA had my 993 registered as an estate. You should not have any problems there!

I think the grey accents can work if done right. The PO of my TT had the rear grill, door handles, mirrors and S-ducts done in dark grey....took a bit of time to get used to it but now looks fine to me. I think the PO should have done the wheels as well as I'm generally not a big fan of black wheels on dark cars.

I think this car will look awsome once lowered; although as I've commented before that IMHO there are better wheels than the factory twists that better suit a 993 Speedster.

Just my $0.02

" there are better wheels than the factory twists that better suit a 993 "

David - Don't get me started on wheels! I went to a track day last Friday and was immediately drawn to a fellow club member who had a set of genuine 993RS Speedlines, all refurbed ready! I must resist!!
Each time I walk around the 9M shop I'm looking at wheels thinking......
Colin has a 'spare' set of show wheels - BBS LM's which we will try on! Marc has a set of the GT3RS wheels for sale!
Then there's a Carrera 993 just turned up with some Fiske wheels that are for also sale ... Neil, one of the painters there had a set of 19" Techart wheels (thankfully now sold!).
I really have to wait until the car's lowered and complete and then decide. So that should be sometime next week!
Graham

A classic looking 5 spoke wheel is what you need....Techart Formulas, RS Speedlines, or the Fuchs look-a-likes from the 997 Sport Classic

What are those??? I saw some similar wheels by PS that I thought were pretty cool a couple of years back when Jager was building his. I wonder how the updated Fuchs-style look on your car? Hmmm... But from the look of your car right now, I ultimately think the RS Speedlines are the wheels I would choose.

And FWIW, I think the contrasting paint on the grill and handles is cool. Reminds me of the Vesuvio Metallic S. Are you going to paint the mirrors too?

F N A. I have a funny feeling in my pants now. Seriously, that is just sooooo nice. And the speed with which it was done...unbelieveable. THANK YOU for allowing to be shared, Graham, and thanks Colin for taking the time to do so. I'm going to miss this thread!
