Brought these goodies home today and the side skirts (which I also had painted). The grill pieces are just loosely placed in there. Need to glue them down with adhesive.

That sounds fair for what they had to do. Paying a bit more for them to do whatever needed is far better than them cutting corners to meet the initial quote.

Guessing they have new fender to cowl seals but if not, you want them to have that before aligning the fenders

I don't think a color change is crazy at all. I often contemplate it myself. Awesome color choice

This whole thread is amazing. Can't wait to see it done and maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to see it cruising by.
Thanks for bringing us along.

Yes, I bought those ahead of time, along with a new hood seal (old one was frayed). Asked them to take care of both, as the hood seal really needs to go in before the hood is on. Its a real tight fit between the hood and cowl. You can force it but no way I'm doing that with fresh paint. Not even with tape protecting it.

Chapeau!
Nice to see the brave choice, that you want.

Obviously it looks fantastic on any wheels, even the D90s but I'd suggest that black wheels never look good in the real world. Silver. Gunmetal maybe.

...and do you have the split-grill reinforcement bar, that runs along the top inside? Otherwise the floppier split grill will cause your spoiler to 'gap' at the top.

993 512 777 00 part number.

I am envious. This is going to be a stunning 993. I would love to do the same in Signal Orange.

My grill already had that. Not sure if the 98's came with it stock or if it was retrofit but all good there.

Congrats on your new car! It’s like a second birth basically!

$25k does not sound too bad if the shop has to strip everything from the car and reinstall everything back.

Here's two pics and a video clip.

Car is home, finally! Took it all apart in April. Glad to have her back!

Thanks guys.

Getting going on the rebuild. Got the underside of the roof all insulated and soundproofed. Test fit the headliner bows and took all the measurements I needed yesterday. Planning to sew up my headliner today so I can install that in the coming days. Once that is done, I can set all the glass and then start punching down the list in reverse order of how I took it all apart.
