Another datapoint here in Europe : black on black C2S manual with some options (sunroof, twists, rear wiper), about 60kmiles, sold in less than 2 days for 142kUSD. Car looked clean, cannot remember if it had the Sports hard back seats (ad is withdrawn now).

And I thought Zenith blue attracted some sort of desirability...? Question now is, will the color supersede ZERO receipts or service records and the less than professional presentation of this car?

After this disaster, you'd think the seller have learned a lesson or two.

So hammered in at $89k which means $93.5k w/ fees.
This could've been a $125-$130k car if it's prepped appropriately for sale.
BaT brings good money but you've got to know how to play that forum.

$89K plus fees. Car needs another $20-$25K at least to bring up to my standard. The rushed walkaround video at the end and paint meters? may have gotten him the extra $9K. Spend a little money on presentation folks and it will pay dividends on BAT. Seems like everything is being bought no matter what it looks like.

Yes, presentation of that car was horrible. It looked like the Seller asked his son to take some quick pictures with his iPhone. Didn't upload video or paint meter readings until the last minute. All work was done by an Indie friend, apparently, yet had zero receipts and said friend couldn't be bothered to fix the CEL issue? Car was also pretty damn rough for its miles too, I've seen 120k+ miles cars in better condition.

Wow. Wonder what a clean Zenith Blue C2S with painted hardbacks, Bilstein coil overs, RoW height, mint wheels, choice of split grill or aerokit would bring? Jeeze, what am I saying?

Given that other one just went at $93.5k, would you take $94k?

How do you come up with $20 or $25K???

I seriously doubt this is more than $10K to get sorted. If not burning oil, the SAI issue can be fixed with piano wire and some patience.

I believe the seller was happy. He probably bought the car for $30K 18 years ago. Drove it for almost two decades and sold it for triple what he bought it for with very little effort. I also have to believe the buyer is happy. The buyer got an amazing bargain on a unique car. Win-Win.

I was considering buying this car before it went on BaT.

I find it funny that the BaT monkeys were very worked up about the 4S script but nobody said anything about the SUV ride height…

If you take that Zenith and aside of SAI issues also perform all the mods you have on your '97 you will get to my number quick fast and in a hurry, That car needs love and a caring owner so hopefully buyer is exactly that.

I didn't read all the details.. Was it just my imagination or did the registration sticker say 2019 on it?

Also, maybe the seller wasn't in a financial or time position to make the investment. Sure, he could have put money into it and gotten the money out +20%-30% but maybe he just wanted or needed it gone and liquidated. '
No harm, no foul. Someone else can reap the rewards.
