I would argue it was the 17k miles that gave it that value. Not the interior color.
That is one of the lowest mileage 993 WB's I've seen for sale.

at nearly $190k, this is a significant number for a 4S. it actually out sold the 15k mile 355 GTS that sold right after it. impressive.

When value is predicated on very low miles, the more you drive, the more you lose. Should be a very nice garage queen.

There is a compromise position rather than letting it sit. Starting with 17k miles you can still put 2k miles a year on it for 10 years and have a Mezger engined car with only 37k miles at the end of that time. I consider 37k miles on a 35 year old 911 still to be low mileage. And you get to enjoy the ownership. There is some intrinsic value associated with just driving it.

I agree with you. If you can afford this car, you can afford to put miles on it too, regardless. They say you never pay too much, just too early.

I bought mine with 27k on the clock 5 years ago and just crossed 36k. I drove it more in the last year and half due to COVID than the last 3.5 years I owned it.

Someone that can afford this car probably has a few more like it to choose from. Spread across the multiple toys, he probably won't put more than 1-2k on this per yr max.

what mdude said. take 3-4 cars and a busy schedule's allowable time and you actually can put relatively few miles on each and still enjoy them all. it may seem limited or unfortunate, but it's the case for many, many owners.

That’s the position I’m in; 5 cars. I bought my 993 C4S in 2005 and have just put 25k miles on it in 16 years. I’m not trying to save it or keep the mileage low; I just can’t put 10k miles a year on each. I’d have to live in them. Then came working from home for 6 months followed by retirement and my annual mileage is 40% of what it once was.
