While the bidding on that car jumped up a decent' amount at the end, I'm still not sure if that was a good sell. Maybe it is and an accident history has that much of a price impact. Or maybe the decals scared away another $10-$20k.
The reserve on that car from Pcarmarket must have been around $80-85k.
Here's another interesting comparison, a C2S that DIDN'T meet reserve on BaT at almost $130k and with 10k lower miles and no accidents: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...ra-s-coupe-25/

With 73k miles on the clock that was all the money for that in this market!

[QUOTE=Tarek307;18662591]funny it sold 2 mins after the auction for $13K more than the "all the money for that" price... but you're the valuation expert around here...thats a C2S not a C4S, always worth more ![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Welp … always a sucker born each day in the car biz for sure ..but congrats nonetheless ![thumbsup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bigok.gif)

And this one is an interesting example of current market conditions...
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...carrera-4s-90/
Bought in May of 2021 at $127k + fees
Sold in March of 2023 at $130k + fees (added about 2k miles)
Side note: Been following along pretty closely in the GT3 / RS for sale thread (I want one)...which is essentially the same type of content as this thread, yet no one ever chimes in with "valuation threads don't belong here"
and it seems while asking prices are still inflated, there have been a number of RNM or cars sold at 10%-15% below original ask. What is interesting is that inventory availability is really low. Was tracking the market last summer and there were about 20 GT3 .1 or .2 available...today there's probably less than 7, maybe less than 5 with no issues, but that could be a seasonality factor?
Just did a quick scan of Autotrader for 993 C2S / C4S...inventory is low yet the dealer asking prices are, well...here's some of the highlights:
1998 C4S 45k miles...$200k ask...
1997 C4S 42k miles...$186k ask...
1997 C2S - 40k miles...$160k ask...but some sort of weird branded title recently?
We'll probably get a better gauge after that BaT auction closes.

Buyer beware on both imo.
Why they continue to advertise them for sale on Autotrader is beyond me.

I currently have a C4S for sale. Canadian car in Canada.
I'm an avid enthusiast, and not a dealer. Does anybody have any first hand experience on the costs associated with a US buyer of a Canadian car? For my education on helping international interest.
I took this from a recent BaT ad, where the car was Canadian:
"We recommend a budget of approx. 2.85% for duty and $1k-ish USD for incidentals, plus the cost of shipping to your destination for American buyers. Keep in mind your own state tax may apply.
Canadian buyers, budget the cost of shipping plus applicable sale tax(es) for your home province where the car will be titled. Please note this car is exempt from the Federal Luxury Tax (Canada)."
