Without going down the odometer path again, I just find it interesting on BAT that so many cars state TMU. I went back and pulled a couple Excellence mags from the 90’s. Not one ad mentions unknown mileage. The closest I can find are ads saying how many miles are on a rebuilt engine versus miles shown. These are just CYA times. It would seem unless you are the original owner, every car could include TMU in a sales ad. For example, I can vouch for the 38 years I’ve owned my first Porsche but couldn’t swear the original owner recorded each and every mile driven.

Default Selling prices for C4S or C2S above 100k miles?

Wondering if anyone has seen any sales of a C4S or C2S above 100k miles? I have 1996 C4S with 114k miles and wanting to adjust my Agreed Value policy but I can't find many examples with this many miles. The closest I have found is this one with 91k miles that sold for $108k - https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...omments-anchor. I am figuring a valuation of around $100k would be about right.

That’s last years value. Today would be more. That comp feels very low.

But it’s insurance. Pay for what you’re comfortable with.

Here's the current chart on C2S/ C4S sales that'll give you an idea what they're selling for over the last 12 months. (The 112K mile data point at $109 was what Rudy's Polar Silver 4S sold for at the Goodings auction 3/4/22)

^^^ Yeah, that was Rudy's 97 Blue Tourquoise at the Goodings auction in March. A real stunner.

The general feeling at the time in this thread (and the other Rudy auction threads) is that car sold too low.

Always looking for those anomalies. Three things are very clear from that chart for sure...

1) Of all C4S sales, a visible majority of C4S have sold below $150K.
2) Conversely, of all C2S sales, a majority of C2S have sold above $150K.
3) At the upper echelon, above $170K, more than double are C2S (13 vs only 6 C4S examples)

Default 1 owner 1998 C2S. …,TMU

Beautiful car. The seller tries to explain how a 1 owner car can be TMU.

Anyone notice the whiteface gauges look different than normal? I never cared for the way the warning lights stood out on white gauges, so maybe they toned them down when work was done on them. They do look better OFF but a little weird when illuminated:

From the cold start video 0:25

Normal white gauges:

Those are aftermarket gauges, easy tell is lack of “VDO” marking.. also the numbers on the oil temp

Default 2022 Value: 1998 C2S - Original owner - Me

Insurer Leyland West has provided a Declared Value coverage for the coupe for about 10 years; $85K. .. Without a prompt, Leyland raised the DV to $121K adjusting the annual cost so.. .. Asked about this $35K DV increase Leyland suggested a Total Loss would likely be triggered at the low, low $85K level. .. With the policy maturing next month the DV was increased to $150K @ $1,250. annually. . Zip 81657, 100/300K liability, 100K uninsured, 3K mile use, etc., etc. 3 vintage cars on the policy.

The C2S coupe is original as original gets sans an OE black engine grill, and RoW bumper fascia. ..Options loaded, ordered new, garaged. . Present mileage is in the 80s.

I get it I am a Statistician as well. C2S is more “Highly correlated” than C4S sales.
