This KBB article states that 25% of 911 customers select the manual transmission, which is no longer available on the 992.2 vehicle.
Assuming transmission specification is based on preference and isn't random, then the Porsche decision to eliminate the manual transmission selection option has the potential to eliminate the 992.2 for purchase consideration for some buyers.
The removal of ability to select the manual transmission was one reason for me to retract my 992 wait list deposit.

A new Corvette was immediately excluded for my purchase consideration because of the transmission.
My thought on the 992.2 was if I was flexible on the transmission I might as well buy a Corvette and save a few bucks.

Carrera T , Gt3 , and even the possibility of a rumored) Base Turbo with RWD can get a manual . if not all then at least 2 out of 3.

Calm down. Manual transmissions were not available at launch of the 992.1 either.

1. No one in marketing or engineering of any manufacturer cares what the old guy (higher percentage of current buyers) take rate of manuals is. They're dying at a faster rate than purchasing. If you're older than say 55 (I'm 56) please stop bitching because on average you're not buying more than 1.5-2 more 911s during your lifetime. They care what the next gens are going to be buying multiple of until they age out.
2. The manual take rate for under 50 falls off a cliff similarly to everything else old guys like.
Everyone understands old guys want a manual transmission, a non-mart watch, a fountain pen, and cursive so can we give it a rest?

Why is there no "S" on rollout? Or "T" model? Isn't it odd that they roll out the Base and GTS first?
Porsche is an Engineering firm first, a car manufacturer secondary - as they always have been. I suspect they reserved those models while they work on a manual trans for them. It's all speculation at this point, but don't count them down and out just yet.

I never thought the day would come that BMW offered more manuals than Porsche.
I still don’t get how BMW can still sell all ICE M cars while 911 went hybrid especially considering the fact that the Porsche ppl always stated they will keep 911s ICE and manual as long as possible.

The next Gen M5 is to be revealed this summer and it will be a hybrid. The XM is a mild hybrid.
I was informed this week by upper management at a BMW dealership that BMW NA is pulling back on EVs within the United States as they have come to learn that the market for them is not where they thought it would be and customer complaints pertaining to the charging infrastructure within the United States have been abundant.
