Lets talk about Nurburging time and weight of the car as claimed.
Im kinda dissapointed due to few facts after watching the presentation - the car is visibly faster in straight line (Mat Watson / Carwow race), which means thats where the 8s will come from, especially the GTS now comes default on CUP tires (you can check in configuraton) and tires are bigger in the back.
They also tested the car with aero package vs 992.1 without. No clue about rear axle steering, but thats not standard on 992.1
That basically means 992.1 gts will be faster in corners, while 992.2 will be putting up more power in straight line, am I thinking this correctly?
base trim on GTS have NO REAR SEATS (its still a 0$ option), so thats another ~20kg (?) off the car compared to 992.1 which had them?
Also im pretty sure they removed rear seats as base and left it as 0$ option to keep the weight of the car under 1600kg and to say that the difference vs 992.1 is barely 50kg, which is kinda missleading.
And last thing - anyone found how the active aero works on gts? its just for cooling like the base trim on 992.1 had?

Where did you hear this? Everything I’ve seen is indicating the S will be a hybrid and basically just be a detuned GTS again. So, no manual option.

4:00 minute mark briefly shows a 992.2 Targa hybrid model it seems. If that is the case then I would also expect the 992.2 S to be hybrid as well. Seems only the 992.2 base/T would be non-hybrid perhaps?

That's what I thought as well. This keeps the "official" weight of the car down for marketing and for recording performance metrics, but in the real world, people will choose the heavier $0 option.

I've had some time to think about the 992.2 numbers ($$$) game with the GTS and I'm boggled. I mean a 530+HP GTS that's easily going to be $200k out the door? 2.9 to 60 on the streets quoted - that's not far from 992.1 Turbo territory. 3550lbs without the back seat - I guess that's hidden with the huge increase in power.
The 991.2 generation (T or GTS) is looking more like the sweet spot for me, until Porsche fully transitions into plug-in/electrics. The 991.2 GTS is a svelte machine, nice size, has all the amenities that make it modern and all the pieces that hails back to the legacy cars. I'm totally good with this for the next 7-10 years.

They don't need to engineer a new manual, the engine on the new base is apparently a carry over from the 992.1 so at first glance they can keep using the same 7-speed manual.

“We’re definitely keeping the door open to the manual in other versions. We are aware that there is customer demand for it,” Gebhardt said, indicating it would be likely for the “most enthusiast-oriented versions.” Carrera T seems to be the likeliest candidate, then, plus the GT3.
I hope they're right but, even if the T returns, it will still be a shame to have only one non-GT (iow, Carrera lineup) power level available with a manual vs three in the 992.1 (assuming the 992.2 "S will be a hybrid" rumors are true).

I may be the only who cares but PCCBs are no longer an option on the base :/
On the bright side, there are some new standards features such as:
auto folding mirrors
ambient lighting
wireless charger

There has been absolutely zero indication the S will be a hybrid. The GTS is the base level for the hybrid, below the Turbo.

I think that's why the base horsepower is so low as well. Allows the S to slot between the base and the GTS and giving a reason to buy the S over the base. I would expect the S to have the same horsepower as the outgoing GTS. The same engine and same turbos as 992.1 GTS. So essentially 992.2 S manual becomes the same as a 992.1 GTS manual. Aesthetic aside.
