Plenty of GT3s under $300K, several under $250K. Big difference between that and half a million.

You mentioned a manual, GT2 RS. That’s not a GT3, and likely a lot more desirable than a dot one GT3, and with a much higher MSRP to begin with. I did have some numbers hyberbole there, but not a lot.

I mentioned a manual turbo, a la GT2RS.
Same as the GT3 Touring, a la 911R.

Current used GT2RS go for around 400K and those are 6 years old already.

GT2RS production numbers are way different than a GT3 or even GT3RS. No comparison.

Who is “they”? That is my point. The only “they” that knows anything for sure is Porsche. Porsche has said nothing except tune in on May 28.

We should start a new speculation thread after May 28. Maybe “992.2 Info - Post May 28 Press Release”

This is other way around - Manthey racing explained recently that Manthey package for GT3 gives a professional drive just 3,5s (6:55 instead of 6:58 with change on Nurburging) but for regular daily avarage track user it gives around 14-15 second of time per lap on Nurburging.

Same case here, the time is 7-8s better for pro, and will be probably ~15-20s for avarage track joe, BUT still lets be honest - same avarage joe is not getting anywhere near 7:16 with that car. I doubt most of us would see anywhere near 7:30 with gt3, yet alone gts.

Kinda missing the point here just getting stuck on the specific numbers...6 years later, tourings are as hot as ever, still uncommon and hard to get and still command a 50-75k premium. Whoever said half a million may have been overzealous as the R prices are barely at that currently, but still.

it’s interesting because entry into Ferrari world is prob about $500k.

so that means most 911s are really obtainable. Relatively speaking.

doesn’t it?
