Allegedly there will not be any full EV during the 994. It will come the following generation, the 998.

Nothing you just said Tesla is a stock pump and Porsche actually builds cars. Porsche is forced to do electrics because of Tesla. Anyway lets not hijack this cool thread about the 992.2

Any new information about prices or the suspected price increase for the 992.2 base and GTS? Do dealers in the US and other locations have an internal configurator that they already have access to?

My SA whom has over 40 years with the marque is stating easily a 10% increase across the 992.2 range.

Wow, those are big numbers for the price increases. More and more people are going to buy the 400HP Base car (which is more than enough performance for most people) and skip the higher priced trims. The real issue is whether Porsche will make more Base models to match the demand curve shift.

I am going to go with the base. I always wanted a 911, but I don't want to spend for any higher trim levels than the base given the price increases over the last 5 years or so. All of Porsche's prices have really started to climb and I wonder how much higher they will go.

Ballpark #'s here but at the start of the 992 generation in the US, the base car hovered just around 100k. In 2024, the base was ~115k. Now for the 992.2, i think we're gonna be looking at around 129k for the base offering.

Not disputing this but what was the point of raising the price back in March for a few months only to raise it again a few months later?

To be clear, those figures are just complete guesses on my end. If i had to theorize, the uplift coming with the 992.2 would cover the R&D and related expenses associated with the hybrid powertrain. It was easy to push that 15k jump from 2020 to 2024 due to covid, supply chains, etc. Now it will be even easier to push another 10-15k for the powertrain.

It's all very aggravating, but I wonder if they had a price point in mind a while back and wanted to take the boiled frog approach to it (drop a frog in a pot of boiling water too quickly and it jumps out, but gradually increase temps...).
