So in essence I waited 2 months for a T allocation after being #1 on the S wait list or 16 months after asking for that S allocation.
Interestingly, my dealer appears to be getting a bit of DSG cars. I am specifically ordering a manual. Also, they claim (having a hard time believing this), that due to chip shortage, barge fire, and Ukrainian harness supply chain issues, they have only gotten <10 S allocations to date. Mind you this is one of the larger dealerships here in the Northeast.

I'm wondering if this is true all around... To other's advice, I may consider casting a wider net to Naples Porsche and Champion Porsche.

They aren't making many S because they instead can make a GTS and get more profit out of it.

Many thanks for taking the time to do the above. As I mentioned, my topic was about the "time to get an allocation after getting on the dealer list". Unfortunately, out of the 18 that you posted above, only 3 were even hardly remotely similar. And out of those, 2 were specific to GTS; hardly the "dozens - threads on allocations and wait times" you noted. But nice try. To help with your comprehension, what I was trying to figure out was timing from the time that you're on the dealer list to obtaining an allocation. It wasn't for MSRP/ADM, allocation availability or quantities. Typical with bullies/smartasses, each time they open their mouths, a lot of noise comes out where they just want to be heard or are simply trying to be funny at the expense of others. Let's see in this case if you're at least man enough to admit you were mistaken.

Yea, same here. As much as I'm not in a rush since I'm only a year into my M8 there is always that new car excitement. The sales guy I talked to who has been at the dealer for 24 years and seemed pretty straight forward thought it could be maybe even next fall at the soonest, about a year. But maybe I need to branch out a little bit as well. He said I'm 3rd on the list there for an S.

It is very unlikely that a Porsche dealer in the US did not get a Carrera S allocation for 16 months.

Whatever. Try reading through them. Your question may not be the main topic, but it has been discussed in each of those threads. It is easily one of the top 3 or 4 topics discussed here for the last 2 years. I have no need to prove my manhood to you. Those who have been here know how tired the topic is. Sorry if I seemed to be a bully to your Karen.

From my 14,700 BMW forum posts I know how annoying bring up many time rehashed topics can be so I had googled it before I went to the dealer (and maybe some of the google links led here) and said to him, "I've read/heard that the allocation wait can be 18 months. How is yours doing?"

Last week I went to the Porsche Dealer in Girona, Spain for a 992 Carrera S and I got an allocation almost instantly (within 1 week) and planned delivery is February 2024.

Things are very different in the EU as you note, that topic has also been covered here.

Certainly, so are the prices......just configured my 911 Carrera S on the US website. MRSP of USD 190 K and in Europe USD 238 K......(but with an allocation and a 5% discount ). Some people says "better too expensive than not available"......

Only the Targa and the GT3 in Europe has 1,5 - 2 years lead time.

You might consider Ft Myers Porsche as well. I have purchased two (2) P-Cars from them and have found them to be excellent to deal with. I will say, they are moving into a very large and new facility in 8-10 months (guesstimating) so maybe, if my optimistic calculations are correct, they will have some more S allocations that usual. That's just me surmising, however I doubt there is any truth or hopeful expectations that will be realized from that, but hey, worth a shot.

If you're loyal to Naples, that's cool too.
