Seeking An Allocation @ MSRP

Seeking An Allocation @ MSRP
Hello all,
It's been a while since I've posted but I've been lurking! I'm searching for a 992 GTS allocation at MSRP, is that possible? My local dealer messaged me today and has one at $10K ADM but I'm really not interested in that as it seems to perpetuate the problem
Thanks in advance!

Are we really starting another thread on this? The short answer... if you can secure a true allocation for a 992 GTS at $10k adm, grab it. Many have paid much higher. If you would like to dream about owning one for the next 3-4 years or longer, put yourself on any number of msrp only lists around the country.

You got 2 ways to go
1. Stand on principle and do your part to help defeat ADMs-nerve of those greedy dealers charging above MSRP-and get on an MSRP list and get a car in a couple of years with the 2 additional yearly price increases which will wind up costing you more than 10k.
OR
2. Pay the ADM and enjoy the car.
Which one are you going to pick?

I was offered a GTS allocation at MSRP on Dec 23 by my dealer here in central MD (I passed because I specifically asked for T or S - got an allocation for the former three weeks later, on Jan 16). It really depends where you're located when it comes to ADM.

^^This. In fact PENSKE (PNS one of my local dealers) dealers are now required to sell new cars at MSRP. If you have purchase history and are local as well as proactive getting on the "list", MSRP is not uncommon.

When I got my C2S in early 2020 for 4% off MSRP I thought that wasn't discount enough, as I was used to getting cars at 7-8% off MSRP. How wrong was I? This was right before COVID. I only waited 4 months for delivery, 4% off MSRP, and 1.9% on the loan. Things are so different now. You can't even get a Toyota mini-van without paying $5-6K over MSRP today (I checked into it). Or Escalade for $7500 over (checked into that as well). I'm with you though, it is a tough pill to swallow to pay $10k over to get a car. Everyone has their own opinions, you can want the car badly (this isn't a cheap car btw) and still have reservations about paying $10k over. To each his/her own. I wouldn't pay over sticker for a Toyota or Cadillac either. I'd be looking at the used market.

Simply amazing. A guy (VartheVar) was barking an immediate allocation for a GTS for MSRP quite recently. A few of us questioned that as it was totally out of line with what every one else is seeing as many here have substantiated and were called out as haters as well as terrible people who did not slobber all over this deal through some broker/used car dealer and an unknown dealer. Haven't heard another word about it.
Like a number of others I refuse to play these greaseball games and will buy my next 911 when they are in stock and if that day never comes then I have owned my last 911 and will live just fine without one.

If I could afford a $50k markup I would happily pay it, cause I get to have the car I want and someone else doesn't. But currently it's the other way around, where someone else gets it and I can't afford it. So I strive to make more money. Seems pretty fair to me. The dealership has a valuable and limited commodity and Porsche's stock and desirability is only going up. So until the ADMs and exclusivity are damaging the brand, there is literally no harm and no foul in this business model.
