Default Are base 911 allocations actually available?

I’ve just started the journey of acquiring a new or preowned 992. The two Porsche dealers in my state have been pretty vague and discouraging of ever being able to achieve an allocation for a basic 911 build. I’ve looked at numerous posts on here and other forums and there seems to be no definitive answer. Help me have a reasonable and methodical approach to this. Thank you!

It's a very hard allocation to find. It seems Turbos, GTS, GT3s and Ts are easier (S also pretty hard). I inquired with my SA (prior relationship on two other cars) this past June wanting a base allocation. Took until mid Dec before an allocation slot came to the dealership. My build just reached its freeze date so I can say the production line in Germany will have at least one base 992 on it come end of Feb. Would be interesting to see the ten 992s on the line before and after mine rolls on by, I would bet all higher trims. That said, maybe check again as I would think if my car is being built end of Feb then other base 992s must be as well.

Plenty of people right here on the forum have C2 cars, they are great cars. It's not like you would be getting a "neutered" 911 with the C2. What the dealers are saying, who knows. I guess the allocations depend on which components are available at the factory - maybe they have more S engines available?

I put a order demand on Dec 8 for C2 and was 3 on the list. Last time I talked to my SA on Jan 8 I was still in the same spot. I hope when the quarterly allocation get announce some time this month I move up on the list. Ill reach out to my SA beginning of march.

Good info! Thank you. It’s just discouraging looking at preowned that are more than a new better build.

I have a heavily optioned Base C2 built sitting at port in Emden waiting for a ride. Took me about 9 months to get the build. I wanted to spec a daily, so felt base was my best starting point.

In Atlanta, GA I was told maybe 2024 to get a C2 build I submitted. I decided to pass and just make my current C2 more of what I would have ordered.

Call every dealer in your state. Ask what their wait list is for the model you want. Assume they get one 1 allocation per quarter and go from there.

Not sure if Porsche has cut back on Base C2 production, but in general, Base C2 allocation should be easier to get than any other 911 models.

I just go a base C2 cab allocation on Jan 6 after being in line since early April ‘22. To be fair, my dealer had told me that they could probably get me a slot in 9-12 months and they delivered on time, but really no earlier. Build date is Mar 17.

I put my request in in Feb 2022 and got an allocation in Aug 2022. Car was built in Dec 2022 and delivered in Jan 2022.

I am not sure what part of the country you are located. I just pre-traded a gorgeous chalk C2 with just over 2100 miles. If you are interested I can put you in touch with my contact @ my dealer. My 992 GTS should be in next month.
