Nothing set, not really sure what I want to do next for a fun car. If something cool comes in new or used, I have a year for sales tax purposes to use it as a trade in. Also, they’ll let me do a pass through trade for something at another dealer.

Did you not like that car after driving it for a bit or some other reason for trading it in early?

Wow! Curious and only if you want to discuss: How long did you have the C4GTS for? Miles?

Any specific reason why you decided to trade in so soon and for no specific replacement?

Had it for 2750 miles. Was just talking about this on another forum. I can’t point to any one thing. The car was/is beautiful inside and out and fantastic to drive. I think it is possibly too competent and thus maybe not as fun as I had hoped, previous cars I’ve owned were just as fun or more so for 100k less. That and for me it was a very stressful car to own due to a number of external reasons. I just never felt great parking it anywhere, the car gets too much attention, was nearly hit twice by people running stop signs or critters running across the road aiming for my front radiator grills etc. All I know is that when I was talking to my dealer and they gave me the offer to get out of it for a very minimal loss, I jumped at the chance. It will probably be the nicest, most capable car I’ve ever owned and oddly I don’t miss it at all. Don’t know 100% why, but it is telling to me.

Relatable post. You did a good job securing peace of mind. Try Turbo S next time. Did the trick for me. Just like you said, can't exactly point to one thing but the Turbo S hit different than the GTS. Sounds odd I know. Good luck.

Who knows if it will be the same on regular 992s but I don’t know why it would be any different. You’ll probably see the biggest price delta when the 992.2’s come out vs the years of 992.1’s.

But then again, people on bring a trailer seem to bid based off sticker price so who knows…
That definitely makes sense. I think the farther removed, the more the big difference is really the generational/mid-cycle updates or a major change in the car, not necessarily the year especially when nothing changed between two years (as the case with 2023/2024).

I would suggest you go try a nice used Cayman/Boxster GTS4.0.. maybe even try it manual.. and get out of a turbo.. car wlll also feel smaller, more analogue interior, and if you get boxster you've got a great electric top!

I was in the same boat as the OP, only mine was a TTS. For me, it's not about how fast I can go anymore. It's just enjoying the drive! Not that a GTS is not fast! I sold the TTS back to the dealer and ordered a manual GTS. The last manual I had was a 2007 Turbo (that I miss) which had about the same horsepower as the 2024 GTS! I'm hoping I feel more connected to this one?

Yeah the endless battle for a faster 0-60 has become fruitless for regular street driving. Everything is fast, and EVs are quicker. I ordered a manual Targa4S with a heavily over specced interior. This one is about driving enjoyment for me, not just speed. Reality is that ANY 911 is plenty fast for typical daily duties. Different story obviously if you will care to track it

I was told there was a $10k adm on the 911 I am after. I can’t do it and May end up not being able to purchase the T. I configured a 911S and it was just out of reach @ $144 which is what the T would end up being before taxes if they insist on adding the $10k. Hoping they can doing away with it in my case.

And as you rightly mentioned, with the advancement of electric vehicles (EVs), acceleration times have become exceptionally quick, but they might not provide the same visceral experience as an internal combustion engine with a manual gearbox.
If you don't hand crank to start your motor and wind your windows down you aren't a real enthusiast

I am not sure of the relevance of this to this thread on ADMs.

Another ADM data point:
  1. Submitted an order for an allocation to my local Dealer in April '23 for a Targa 4 GTS
  2. $197k MSRP
  3. No trade
  4. No deposit
  5. Got the call today - allocation available for November delivery
  6. $25k ADM
  7. I'm in SoCal

Manual transmission = ADM or "additional driving mechanism"

Best I could come up with this early....
