Their SUV strategy is to release a new model above the Cayenne, to bring in more profits. The 911 could mint more money for them if they could/would produce more of them.
I would rather buy a X6M or X5M than a Cayenne Turbo, they out perform the Porsche product at a much lower cost. X3M or Macan Turbo, it is the same situation. I think where Porsche is missing out is on the larger performance SUV that can carry 7 or 8 passengers. The Alpina XB7 is probably the next car we will get for my wife. She had the Cayenne Turbo in the past and it was a nice vehicle, but now with kids she wants something bigger that still has performance. The interior luxury in the Alpina is much higher than in a Porsche SUV.

We upgraded my wife's Macan to an e-tron GT because "I want a sexy sedan again while I don't mind climbing in and out of it. In a few years I'll get another SUV when my body forces me too." On the plus side it put us in an EV too for the first time.

there is a case to be made for X5M/X6M if you don't care about a ****ty ride quality 24/7

I had an X3M and X5M the ride quality is terrible full stop. The build quality in the X3M is also quite subpar. Mine had creaks and gaskets between the body and sunroof stuck out. I don't like how much my cayenne turbo coupe had cost me but it is miles better in every category.

We had a Macan and my wife really liked it, but I have just never been a fan of the Cayenne. I personally think they missed the mark on the design.

I had an X6M that I tuned even further into a complete beast. It is an SUV and I did not care so much about the ride, especially after I lowered it. It was faster than most sports cars, which also have terrible rides.

We have a fully loaded X7 right now and love it. Word is that Porsche will come out with a larger 3-row SUV to enter the X7/GLS space. I’m sure the price tag will be hefty so they better make it worth it. At this time, a fully loaded BMW SUV outshines a base Porsche SUV in my book in terms of performance, features/options, and interior design. The Macan lag is an absolute joke and embarrassment to the Porsche brand.

Turbo lag? Or lag in overall features, design and performance?

Or maybe prospective buyers were turned off by the brown interior? Red over brown with black wheels/trim is not a great color combo.

I was wondering what was meant by body damage. Now I see it. Yikes. Hard pass. Spending too much money to either have 2 holes in the bumper or a plate!

Half of the potential buyers are probably like me and won’t even consider a car with the front plate holes drilled.

Whoever spec’d that must be blind too. The red and brown are awful together.

Some Base, T, and S 911 allocations dropped yesterday. Delivery dates into November. Buddy of mine just got his demand order for a 911S Cabriolet filled. Its at MSRP.

Cheers.

How long was he waiting for that allocation and where is the dealer?
