Politics aside, there is no doubt that high inflation environments help asset owners/holders the most. See the recent comments by Charlie Munger. People who own "stuff" see it appreciate, while people who can only trade their labor to generate income for consumption, get hurt. My auto and homeowners insurance went up 30% in one year. One year, 30%. So when they tells us the PCE is 2.7%, I just laugh. I guess they only count people who live in apartments and take mass transit, who have no insurance costs.

I’m not saying there are 130 available, but now there are 134 listed “for sale” using that search. Just a metric but I’ll add that when ADM’s were the highest there were 18 for that same search and when the discounts were 5%+ there were 240 listed.

Its a SoCal dealership. Of the ones in SF, apart from Redwood City, others were MSRP with PPF and ceramic coating through them at delivery, but nobody had an allocation available. I was reached out for a few GTSs over the last 6 months that were already built, at MSRP, but were PDK and no aerokit. 7MT with aerokit were non negotiables for me.

Likewise, Redwood City wouldn't even entertain a conversation when I started looking at Porsches in July last year. They are the closest dealership to me, but unless I absolutely need, i wouldn't want to set foot there.
Porsche SF on the other hand, haven't bought a car, but have had good experiences there with a sales advisor and the service dept.

Their quote to me very recently was 'there's no list. We sell cars are market price. The cars come in quick and go. Whoever pays first takes the car'.
This is for all cars, not just GT.

Yup. Redwood City wouldn't even show me cars because I didn't have a relationship with them. I asked how can I start a relationship with them and they said "it's difficult now, we don't have cars available to sell". These dealers are so damaging to the brands...
Porsche SF I had a great experience as well and Burlingame. Unfortunately for Burlingame, they are a much smaller dealership and I was told they get much fewer allocations.

i just closed on a deal on an incoming T. they were at $20k over initially. We agreed on $5k over, which i'm pissed about, but considering it was optioned 100% like i wanted and who knows the next time a manual will be available that fits what i need i jumped on it. Coincidentally a CPO 23 992T popped up locally with identical options minus the RAS for almost the exact same price with 10k miles. almost $20k over the original MSRP

I was at Porsche Rocklin which has a sister location, Porsche Sacramento. Both are owned by Niello. I was quite surprised that they were requiring 20K ADM on base .2 orders. I had never heard of such a practice on the base model.

That’s just gross. Especially given the price increase.

The sales of used 992s are actually quite slow here in the last 2 months in the SF Bay Area. Also, I see more people backing out of their new 992.1 orders with several dealerships in the Bay Area, especially for the base 992.1 and the T models. Quite a few orphaned new base .1 and T models are listed for sale.
Furthermore, none of the Bay Area dealers I know of charge ADMs on base 992.2 models.
