Did you mention you're still running spacers on this new BC forged set up ?

very interesting… do you have DIY kit or partners in the UK?

It's possible, I just wouldn't recommend getting into boost as the fueling won't be calibrated for the turbo size/air flow under boost conditions. But in theory, yes, cruising somewhere shouldn't be an issue.

No, I had custom offsets made near the 10/10mm spacer arrangement I had before.

Kit is pretty turnkey, remove/replace turbos and load tune. We don't have a dealer in the UK.

For those curious about flashing back to stock after tuning, the uninstall/stock file you are provided is a true stock file byte for byte with a verified CVN and CALID. As long as you flash back to stock there will be no trace and no added flash counter.

can you explain a bit more about how this works without giving away your “secret sauce” of course.

how have you validated that the tune leaves no trace? Won’t other engine parameters/behaviors show the beyond specs activity anyway (e.g., that the engine is generating more hp and tq than expected)?

UPDATE:
I've been enjoying the car with the GTS turbos and tune. We recently did some testing with competition links on the dyno. We also installed our first exhaust system on the car. We'll be releasing a video series in a few weeks where we do an in-depth review of various exhaust systems on the car. So stay tuned for that. After we wrap up that series, I'll be moving on to doing more testing with bolt-ons (intercooler, IPD Plenum, etc.) along with our meth system. The new generation of the Pure Turbos are on the way, we'll be testing those in time as well! A lot coming up!

Updated, confirmed all part numbers needed for PCCB swap:

Part List
  • Front Calipers (9P1615123K / 9P1615124K) I believe the suffix S will give you the black ones
  • Rear Calipers (992615423H / 992615424H)
  • Front Caliper Adapters (9P1611315) X2
  • Bolts to connect Caliper Adapters to Wheel Carrier (PAF008187) X4
  • Front Caliper Bolts (WHT008186) X4
  • Rear Caliper Bolts (N91183701) X4
  • Front Splash Shields (9B1615311B / 9B1615312B)
  • Rear Splash Shield (992615611F / 992615612F)
  • Rotor screws (N10456004) X4 if not re-used
  • Wear sensors (9P1907637A) X2 Front (9P1907637C) X2 Rear
  • Front Rotors (Girodisc A1-156)
  • Rear Rotors (Girodisc A2-156)
  • Front Pads (Ferodo FCP4664)
  • Rear Pads (Ferodo FCP4665)

Can’t wait to see what happens with the pure turbos. Might have to ship my car out to you if none of my locals can come close to your install price. Considering M Engineering is also in Florida, might make for a fun drive home back to Texas.

what’s the difference between previous and new pure turbos?

Sounds good, we were supposed to do a set this week on a client's car but he had to reschedule due to an unexpected trip. We might have some numbers here fairly soon. Folks send us cars all of the time, it usually isn't too bad all in with transport. We can have M-Engineering due the tune remotely while we have the car hooked up to our dyno. It works pretty quick/easy.

Maybe I missed it but what does a GTS turbo replacement and dyno tune cost? Stock cooling upgrade required?

The kit is here:https://flat6motorsports.com/product...kit-992carrera

We charge $1560 in labor to install them. Stock cooling is sufficient, it converts the car to a S/GTS with a Stage 1 map on it essentially.

That is a pretty good deal. Looking at the curves it looks impressive > 4k but drops off sharply below 3k. How does it feel in every day, casual drive where I often don't go much above 3k in city traffic.

It feels phenomenal in every aspect. Everyone loves it, such a great set-up. Here's on our dyno comparing the Stage 0 GTS Map to the Stage 1 Map. Note, the dyno on that page was done on a chassis dyno (DynoJet) and we use that because it was the same dyno for both runs. Chassis dynos don't read as precise as the hub dyno we have now. You can see on this run a smoother plot which is how the car feels. It could have been tire/heat, etc. on the other plot.

This is impressive. So a base 992 with GTS turbos makes 400whp approx? Stock tune?

And the tune takes it to 500+ whp?

Yes, we see them make 510-520whp typically with the tune. The Stage 0 map referenced in that dyno is a simulated stock GTS map, that would be if Porsche updated the vehicle with the stock calibration. Far better to get the M-Engineering tune that we kit with our turbos.

M-engineering shows 475 wtq, 545 whp on the Carerra S with their ECU upgrade on 93 octane. Just a case of dyno differences?
