Most likely, we've tested on multiple dynos but always see that 510-520whp range on their off the shelf tune.

Sorry for the hiatus on this thread, we've been busy testing a bunch of different exhaust combinations. For more detail, check out our thread over here.

A helpful link here on our website too: https://flat6motorsports.com/pages/992exhaustseries

Just posting the videos in one place here to summarize:

What do you guys see for the base/T with a M Engineering tune?

We installed the IPD Plenum on the Project 992. We took everything back to stock so we could get an apples to apples comparison. One quick note, because we have the GTS turbos on, we are running the stock GTS Stage 0 calibration on both dyno pulls, so this would be indicative of a S/GTS but likely the same roughly on a base/T.

Install/Impressions: IPD has been making plenums for Porsche applications for a long time now. We've tested them over the years on various Porsche vehicles and usually see some nice gains. This is a simple, direct replacement for the factory plenum. It changes the factory "t" plenum to a y-pipe shaped to improve airflow and velocity. The install is pretty straightforward and will take an experienced shop ~4 hours, perhaps add an hour, beer and some groans if a DIY. You do have to remove the rear bumper, fans and intercooler to gain good access to the plenum. It might be possible with just removing the inlet hose near the throttle body but restricts access to get to the clamps. It's a simple bolt-on part. Driving the car, it seems a little more eager and torque comes in nicely, you can feel an incremental difference with power delivery from the drivers seat.

Dyno Results: Below are the dyno results from our testing. You can see really strong gains in the mid range and some slight gains elsewhere in the powerband. The Carrera seems to respond well to the increased air velocity as the turbos are spooling and reaching peak boost.

Thanks for doing this, looks like my install of the do88 plenum was for the better lol.

Did you guys monitor boost during the pulls? Is it making this power at the same exact boost levels as without the plenum?

maybe I just overlooked it, has anyone run a quarter mile in a GTS trim car with m engineering tune? does it run a 10.7 quarter mile as well? inching closer to ordering turbos lol.

Haven’t seen gts data, but since the S tuned runs that time, the gts should be exactly the same.

@Flat6Motorsports has you seen much need / uptake for the M-Engineering PDK tune? There was at least one poster who mentioned the car felt 'out of sorts' with just the ECU tune and needed the PDK flashed to take best advantage of the new setup. Haven't seen much discussion of it since... curious what your experience has been with customer cars?

I have the pdk tune, and can attest to absolutely do it if you can. The car is in much more sync with all that added power.

We haven't on the 992 outside of the big power builds, we've done some with and without them. Certainly firms up the shifting and makes it more responsive but we haven't seen an issue with the stock PDK unless you're pushing bigger turbos and meth.

Jon, I read though this thread and saw you’re using factory GTS turbos and I was wondering if you have had the opportunity to drive the 992 with the pure turbo upgrade and the difference in drivability. Specifically turbo lag between the 2 setups.

I have a 700rwhp sedan and there is a trade off for everything I did to get those numbers on a mustang dyno. The higher the boost the harder it was to keep intake temps down so I used a interchiller system. The guys pushing passed 1000hp pull timing like crazy and end up trading thing off. The pure turbo kit seems around $1000 cheaper so I’m curious if you have any suggestions for guys looking at this upgrade.
