Texas' 93 is great gas, most of it is E10 as well which helps out on these cars. M-Tuner still uses all the OEM safeties like knock control. The 93 map would be perfect for your car and the car's strategy can correct ignition timing, etc. if the batch of gas you have happens to be slightly bad and is causing knock events. Running the 91 map will just make the car a little less slower than the 93.

As you go out towards West Texas, NM, AZ, Nevada, CA, that is where you start seeing some of the bad 91 gas. You'll definitely want to run the 91 map if you are specifically filling up with 91.
Some of the Northwest states like Oregon and Washington you may find 92, in that case I would recommend the 91 map as a margin of safety. Either way you can still view datalogs with M-Tuner to see how it's doing which is really nice

You certainly can if you like.

For example, if you fill the car up with 93 gas, you can run the 91 mapping. However, you cannot go the other way around. You cannot run the 93 mapping with 91 gas in the car.
Essentially, you can run higher octane gas in the car as a bit of headroom if you want to.

We have a lot of clients who go to track days and will splash in 100 octane gas with their 93 file running, and the extra octane is a nice peace of mind and the cars stay really happy.

Does that make sense?

Can you provide details on how datalogging works? What parameters are tracked, how is it enabled/activated, do we need laptop in the car, does M Engineering review the logs, etc. Thanks.

Sure thing!

There are dozens of parameters to view. Here is a list of some of them: https://m-engineering.atlassian.net/...alogging+Guide
Depending on the car or platform, that list will be different.

To datalog, you must have the dongle connected to the car and into your laptop running the M-Tuner software. From within the software, you can easily stop or start the log.
The end user (you) can view the datalogs yourself (we encourage this!) or you are more than welcome to email them our way and we can review them and provide feedback.

I've been waiting for my windows 10 laptop to be able to run this OBD flash. The computer arrived a week ago and my M-Engineering dongle yesterday. Even in the midst of a move, the M-Engineering guys turned my data around in less than a day which allowed me to flash the car this morning. Everything went according to the excellent instructions, and a flawless flash took 5 minutes 32 seconds. I can honestly say that re-learning windows (which is still a work in progress) was the only thing that worried me about the process. Its worth repeating that the instructions are very easy to follow and the M-suite software is intuitive and very easy to use. My car has BMC filters, Soul sport cats and the valved Soul exhaust system. I loaded the stage 2/ 93 octane file, idled the car for ten minutes then went for an relatively easy 100 miler, Asheville to Landrum, SC the back way. Lots of opportunity to be sure that everything was working, then driving a little harder on the trip back up to Asheville. Its a great program. The car runs smoothly at all speeds, and flat out flys when you want it to. The enhanced torque is very usable in town and on mountain roads (my car has pdk), and the horsepower gains at higher rpm gets you to the rev limiter much more quickly. Didn't try a launch yet, but roll on acceleration is significantly better than stock. All subjective of course, but spot on in real world driving.

For some more data: I just installed my fabspeed catless pipes (to go with stock PSE) today and re-tuned to stage 2 and got a best 60-130 time of 7.3 (previously 7.6 on stg1 93 octane), from about 57mph and in sport+ mode and pressing the sports response button. On subsequent runs my times did get worse. This was at 82F temp outside at 500 DA. Pretty good results given my car stock was 9.5. 2020 C2S pdk

Haven’t gotten chance to do 1/4 mile runs yet.


After flashing the car the first time which takes about 5 mins, the 2nd flash literally took 10 seconds I think.
