can you break it down?

stage 1: ECU with or without High Flow Filter
stage 2: ECU with high flow cat (or more free flowing exhaust)
stage 3: ECU with Turbo upgrade, intake plenum/manifold, intercooler?
Stage 1: Stock w/ or w/o air filter
Stage 2: Aftermarket exhaust
Stage 3: Intercoolers
Stage 4: Turbo (with or without intercoolers installed)

We have a stage 4 package currently for sale, we've done a few cars already with it: https://www.m-engineering.us/collect...carrera-base-s

You'll find our ECU tune has great everyday driveability, even with the factory PDK programming. Lots of really positive feedback on it!

There are only 2 types of tunes worth getting:

1. A tune so mild that you will stay out of jail
2. A tune so powerful that you will stay out of jail

The PDK works very well with my stage 2 91 octane tune. Drivability is as good as stock until you start to put your foot in it and the ride gets exciting very quickly. I've done a few launches and with PSM in sport, I get some tire slip and it grabs and goes. This is one of the best tunes I've had and I have done my own tunes on other cars. Hands down the best.

OK, this tune has been out for months and no one has run a quarter mile with it yet? I would think the vendor would be able to post a few times. The caveat of track conditions, temperature, etc. can easily be factored in, so please do it!

agreed. Make me think it’s vaporware.

what? They’re a forum sponsor and multiple people have said they’ve purchased the tune. I’m not sure you understand what “vaporware” means…

for the record, I have no horse in this race. Just contemplating if I should spring for this tune.

I'm told that Porsche has a factory tune available for about $4k, gives you roughly 60HP and preserves your warranty. Is this true or my dealer misinformed? I'm still mulling this over between M engineering and Porsche.

I have the stage2 tune (with catless downpipes) on my pdk C2S and I would do the 1/4 if I could... if I actually had good paved and flat roads near me, but I don't. Many others probably don't either without actually going to a drag strip. I'm sure I'll run across an opportunity/road one day though and eagerly do it. I get the obsession with 1/4 mile traps, but to me 60-130 is a far better benchmark indicator of straight line power of a car vs 1/4 mile where grip/traction and road conditions have great influence; I recently had my best run of 7.1 seconds with the colder temps outside; that's faster than a lot of stock supercars (e.g. faster than a GT500, R8 V10+... a stock TTS is in the low 6's). My car stock was around 9.5

I haven't seen any users with this tune post results. I share the same sentiment and I want to decide which to get.

Based on your feedback I really want this tune but I have seen many dyno queens etc. but a car that can put down 4 or 5 solid 1/4 runs in an evening is proof to me. The 60 ft times will indicate track conditions and the trap will show total power output as well as indicate shift performance as well. I don’t intend to drag race my car but plenty of 911’s do and are really fast. Especially modified turbos. The 1/4 is kind of like the Nuremberg of tuning. I don’t doubt your results at all in fact what you say makes me want to pop for it.

There is a drag strip right down the street from M engineering’s shop so I hope they will take a car there someday.

Hey guys,

No vaporware here. Lots of fast Carreras, Turbos, and McLarens amongst a bunch of other cars we support across the globe. With our new shop in PHX and opening soon in South FL we hope to be trackside more often as opposed to just the dyno and our laptops. Look forward to what everyone has to share and post in the future. These are absolute units with our flash on them! It seems the 992 Turbo guys are hitting the drag strip and doing dragy passes more often than y'all, go out and drive and share your results :P
