Yes, read that but to be honest I have no glue how I would be able to judge what 20-30% louder means. Also not sure what a "Titanium" specific tone would be and thought the tone depends much more on the design (cross-pipes, diameters, bend radius etc than the actual material). Btw, our ears respond not linear and therefore acoustics is measured in dB, a logarithmic scale aka 3dB more and it is twice as loud. Long story short - these descriptions don't help me much - but that's just me. I do agree I don't want it too loud either.

This is really hard to convey in words, I totally acknowledge that. It is definitely louder than stock and not obnoxious, and I personally like it (but I recognize I'm biased since I plunked down a bunch of cash for it). It also clearly sounds different than stock but I haven't found a good video of it yet, I agree in videos it tends to sound pretty similar to stock. This is really hard without hearing it in person. The only reference point I can give is that as a former BMW guy, I generally would go for Dinan exhausts (I had one on my E36 back in the day and on my F82) since they tended to be similar to stock but slightly louder with a bit better tone. I like the Akra because it's similar in that regard.

And you just have the catback not the downpipes correct? If you already said that I apologize.

thanks brother. I was thinking about doing downpipe‘s but I know there’s a couple of different Akrapovic types. I also don’t know how it affects warranty or if it will throw lights. I hate idiot lights. I guess what I’m saying is I would love to have better sound but I don’t want any problems. Not even little problems.

You see, for me, if you're going to spend that much money, you really need a significant difference & enhancement in sound. I don't see why I'd spend that much money for an only small improvement. That's why I went valveless

Thanks. Yeah, I come from AMG and had the PE there with a Renntech ASR (allows to open valves 100% all the time) and found that paying $5-$12k for an aftermarket performance exhaust was just not worth it to me. I do like the 992 OEM PE sound but would not mind a little more distinct tone/rumble and a nice finish of the tips (just visual) but really not sure its $5k worth, Would love to hear one in person to get a better idea.

Hah my last car was also an AMG C63 w/the ASR to keep the valves open. Man that V8 sound was great (still no naturally aspirated V8, but it wasn't bad). I do think the Akra will get you closer to what you're looking for.

Slip on/cat back will not throw any lights. This is the same reason why I avoided sport cats, I didn't want to deal with any hassle there. Plus from other comments, it sounds like the sport cats don't change the sound much.

Sport Cats do have a very noticeable character change with the PSE exhaust. With a base exhaust, it's not very different to my ears.

Same here, V8 biturbo with mods to get to 550whp and torque with no end. Sometimes I miss that torque kicking me in the back but the 911 for sure gets the power better to the street. Back to topic - will have to make a decision on the exhaust eventually but thanks for the input.

100% agree. The HFC make a BIG difference in the sound. Much bigger change than the rear section alone

I have heard having BOTH makes a big difference - but if you have to pick one, the catback will give more of a change in volume than the cats, is that correct?

Soul sport cats and soul valved exhaust sound pretty good to my ears and others who have heard it. everything always sounds better above 4K RPM! Also I can put it in normal mode and turn the PSE off and the wife will still ride with me. Ha! 992 C2S
