Is anyone tuning the 992 yet?

My '16 Z06 tuned. pulleyed, intake, was a nasty animal and needed no additional braking, bigger wing, etc.
You can add 100/100 to your bone stock 911 and live happily ever after without turning your car into some kind of a frankenstein modified track monster.

But seriously, the Z06... which I've driven on track... does not have the same level of balance in the overall driving dynamics as a 911. Take the GT3RS. The engine, as great as it is, does not completely dominate the experience because the chassis and brakes are so excellent too. In the Z06, the engine does dominate, imo. And yes, the Z06 brakes and corners pretty damn awesome but it's harder to drive at the limit because the dynamics are not as balanced. I think it comes down to the torque... it's (arguably) too much for the chassis making it fast and fun but also tricky at the edge in comparison to a 911. Some people will prefer the engine dominating... some want that edginess. GM is solving for it though with the move to mid-engine; the C8 is easier to drive at the limit. At least in the base model.
In fairness, the GT2RS seems to suffer in the same fashion. I have never driven it but people who really try to push it on track have a harder time than a GT3RS... mostly due to the torque I think.

No, it means that woman he referenced with the very large breast implants needs to work on her lower back strength or she's going to end up with a bad back, lol.

But the GT2 RS is not similar to the Z06 in that the chassis is set up for the power of the car, it's just that most people who track the GT2 RS usually come from the GT3 RS, where the car provide a more linear, balanced throttle and power curve. With the "hand-of-god" like thrust the GT2 RS provides, one needs to recalibrate their brake points, apex, turn-ins, etc. It's just different, but it doesn't mean the the GT2 RS is like an untamed stallion like the Z06 is, which is barely drivable on the street, much less at a HPDE.

The good thing about horsepower and torque is that you can control it with the pedal on the right. It may be more difficult to handle a 911 with an extra 100 hp but it will be faster around the track.

osI ran into I guy I knew with a GT2RS, he gave some advice, as I looked at his discolored rotors!

I could care less about how any car I own would operate, good or bad, on a track. I wish I had those skills but I don't and can appreciate those who do and understand that these guys are very much in the minority. Adding 100/100 for a street driven car does not require a raft of suspension and braking modifications, ridiculous.

It is, in fact, due to the torque, and horsepower.

hi folks - i have been driving the tuned car for the past several days. my butt dyno does not notice a huge difference. i will have to get the car dyno'd to figure out what's up - haven't had the time to do that.
for reference, when i tuned my x3m competition, the difference was immediately noticeable - yes, i know not apples-to-apples, but just a reference point fwiw.
