If a tool is confirmed to reset the oil service, will it also do the additional service messages? For example I have two counters running right now, one for oil and one for a 40k mile service.

My Autel MaxiCOM MK808S (2023 version) will reset either one or both.

There are actually 4 sensors to check/reset as part of the SRI suite:

1) Inspection
2) Oil service
3)Engine oil
4) Gear oil

Quick reply to msg #81
I own a 2017 C2S and have two sets of wheels and tires for it, the OEM set from Porsche and a set of OZ Racing wheels that I purchased in 2019 from Tire Rack complete with TPMS sensors installed and Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tires mounted [before Tire Rack had Porsche-endorsed "N" rating versions available]. I change these sets every spring and fall and don't worry about which tire and wheel assembly was mounted on the left or right. The Porsche system always soon learns of the change and updates. I do have to enter the data to indicate whether they are summer or winter tires and rim size [all are 20"] although the OZ front wheels are 9" wide vs. the OEM wheels being 8.5" and the OZ rear wheels are 11" wide vs. the OEM wheels being 11.5" wide, and for the summer tires if I am electing the Comfort settings which allow lower tire inflation pressures, and presumably activate an electronic speed limiter since Porsche says that speed must be kept below 165 mph with Comfort settings. I'm never going to have an opportunity to find out.

How far can you go with the MK808S in terms of accessing dealer level features?

It's an expensive unit if it can only reset oil/service indicators, clear DTCs.

What "features" are you interested in accessing?

It's generally best to decide what it is that you want to do with a Scan Tool and then shop for the Scan Tool that will give you this/these capabilities. In my case, at a minimum, I wanted to be able to reset the Maintenance Minders, to bleed the ABS Brake Module and to have some bi-directional capabilities. When I purchased the MK808S it was the least expensive and fairly well supported (a relative term) Scan Tool. At this point in time there may be lower cost alternatives available, if all you need/want to do is reset the Maintenance Minders. To discover if there are any you would need to research each of the San Tools that the major Scan Tool manufacturers offer. In time I'm pretty sure that the capability/function to reset the Maintenance Minders will eventually become a common feature on budget Scan Tools. How much patience you have and how long it will be until this takes place are the questions yet to be answered.
As far as the cost goes . . . . by the time I'd paid a dealer to do nothing more than reset the Maintenance Minders two times, I'd have spent more than the MK808S cost me.

Good post, but to be effective you need to add something along the lines of

"pizza and/or beer provided...".

Just saying...
