Resetting Oil Change Reminder (after changing oil of course)

What would be ideal would be a tool that permanently turns off all the idiotic service reminder lights. I have always tracked my mileage/time and know what service I need to perform and when. I have never relied on those stupid reminders. Their only purpose is to annoy me. If there was a tool that would permanent turn them off, that would be fantastic.

Alas not everyone is as conscientious as us.
We keep notes and receipts, if it says to change oil at so many miles, we do it n thousand miles earlier, not to mention all the other fluid changes. IMHO the reminders should remain, just a simpler way to turn them off would be good; not requiring the purchase of a multi hundred dollar tool to do this. Again if that's all you want, many other cheaper options are available.
OTOH of course, if that option was available, the door to misuse would be wide open and you would have no way of verifying if services etc. were performed. I fully concur that because a dealer states they did a certain item doesn't mean it's actually been done or done correctly... but that's what we're faced with.
I do all my own work and keep receipts religiously as proof as well as mileage and date when the tasks were done and corroborated by the vehicle logs.
YMMV

Waiting for the oil to drain on my car. Just came across this thread. How is the Autel unit? I'm considering this option. Does it provide any user coding settings & capabities? Can do some things which PIWIS 3 can do such as lighting, convertible top control with the remote, etc.., ?
This unit looks really attractive to for all of my cars, but from what I understand, even if you downloaded the updates onto the machine, they apply some shady pay-gate for you to renew the update subscription. Otherwise some functions are locked out.

This should be covered under right to repair legislation.

For the 992 series Service Reminder Reset, does the Autel MaxiAP200 dongle work? I have this unit and it is compatible with my 981, 982 & 991.2 vehicles.
I have a 992 on the way and wonder if this simple to use, no annual subscription tool works with the 992 series 911 vehicles.

I have... I'm asking if anyone has actual use experience with the Autel MaxiAP200 on their 992 series vehicle.
Thanks for the feedback!

981KMAN - You do not need to buy an annual subscription. If you buy the 808 after your 992S arrives, you will be fine.
