According to the MM act, yes (assuming you have proof like receipts). According to your local Porsche dealership - ???...

Another good reason to get a used oil analysis report = additional, excellent proof.

No common sense unfortunately, lol.

This DOES NOT reset the oil service dash indicator.

Thanks, tried it myself today, FAIL.

This is the only this that perterbs me with Porsche.

Like I've said in other threads, heading into model year 4 now on the 992 and not a single, bidirectional obd tool available to reset the oil service, un freakin real.

Someone said icarsoft maybe able to reset under the 991 option, started a seperate thread, but no one out there apparently can try this.

Argh........

Agree. FYI - Was reading reviews of iCarSoft POR v.3.0 on Amazon. A dissatisfied viewer wrote that he bought it for his 992 because manual said it worked with them. Reviewer said nothing worked with his 992 so returned the unit.

Damn it's been mentioned n thousand times:

PIWIS and Launch RESET the SRI. To do that it obviously HAS TO BE bidirectional.

So what does this menu do then?

Yes, we appreciate the ongoing feedback siberian, but I, like manu others, don't want to spend $1000+ for a obd tool, like you mentioned, to just reset my oil, just not an option, but thanks again. Here's hoping for a reasonably priced option like I had for my CTT, which was all of $50.

Who knows about what that menu does, maybe its overlapping or there for future software updates? As of now, did nothing on my 2022 992.

Then please correct the post. It's not there are NO analyzers, but there are no $50 analyzers.

This is, alas a Porsche, you need something like this get a Subaru and you can probably have it done a PepBoys etc. for free.Alas, that's the reality.

Hey all. I just purchased the LAUNCH X431 V+ PRO Elite 4.0, 2022 Newest Bidirectional Scan Tool and IT WORKS!!! I just changed the oil and used it to reset my 2020 Porsche Carrera S (992) and it worked perfectly. Rather than going to oil reset functions, I used the following menu navigation: Local Diagnose --> Select Porsche --> Watched it load notes --> Special Functions snf then reset maintenance and oil. It ended up resetting it for 1 year and 10K miles. Before doing all that, you should Upgrade APK for X-431 V and Install any Update, Login with you new registration, Activate your serial # and activate code that came with your X-431 V (keep confidential), than do your Software update across all core modules and car brands (probably 100+ updates). Then do the local diagnose navigation I mention above.

What version is that as my 2 year free updates expired. Looks simpler than with PIWIS (oh surprise)...

LAUNCH X431 V+ PRO Elite 4.0, 2022 Newest Bidirectional Scan Tool. It's pricey of course, but I had great pleasure in teaching my son how to change the oil on my 992. I purchased it here:

I've used the x431 Launch several times on the wife's 2020 Macan S but not on my 992 yet (due for my courtesy service next month). The Launch was very straight forward for SRI and oil change.

At the risk of belaboring the point, what indication did you get that the PCM reset function did not work?

And assuming the PCM does not reset the oil service reminder, what is the purpose of this display?
