Now we’re gonna start hitting a bunch of Porsche models. Currently on page 914. Hurry folks post ur pics of your former/present Porsha 914s.
@Uhu U know the fuel injection on this 914s were horrible so everyone replaced them with Weber carbs and they struggle to pass emissions (especially in CA). But, u probably already knew that
The D Jetronic on the 914/4 1.7 and 2.0 liter engines.
The newer L Jetronic on the US 1.8 had less problems. And the 914/6 2.0 were anyway using carburetors originally.
I don't know man,...I would have hugged the car instead, after all that wait. But good that you got your priorities clear
That angle and lighting makes the T's rear look amazing. The green too.
From the Bay Area is only a short drive to Highway 1. I like to drive north, all the way up to Pacifica and start the roadtrip from there, down south. Last one was in 2022, driving a rental Cooper JCW, to Indian Wells, for the tennis tournament.
Oh, I hugged the car! Had to give the little lady some love too! Very grateful for how supportive she's been through the over 2 year process of trying to get an allocation for a P sports car (18 months also spent trying to buy a GT4). Particularly after buying a house within that time and already having several cars.
Thank you! Definitely my favorite angle/view of the T
Nice! Pacifica is a perfect starting spot for a Highway 1 drive south. Sounds like a blast in a little JCW Mini!
So, I discovered an old thread here from around 20 years ago where folks were discussing why Germans spelled Porsche >> Porsha (ha, it wasn’t just me) and why they called them porkers (not sure if accurate but it mentioned >> in the 70's Porsche did not have sponsorship for one of its Le-Mans cars. So as a publicity gimmick, Porsche made the car pink and painted cuts of Pork on the car. Hence, the name porker.

Drove the G82 M4 Competition during a 3 day "HPDE" with BMW on Nordschleife. The seats are AMAZING, somewhere between the Sport Plus and the Lightweight buckets from Porsche. The rear locking diff is at prescient level. Despite running on PS4S, it had more traction than my M3 CS on Cup2s.
But, it felt heavy, the gearbox was on the "slow" side and all that I was thinking was "this feels and drives like an M5...", way tamer than the F80 CS. Not to mention less sound, the more playful chassis in the CS and the much quicker DCT. Driving home, I was happy that I kept my CS.
I would say the 981 GT4 despite sounding better and being a little more "alive" than the 718 GT4, it is also slower (castrated by the very long gears).
You can replace the 981 with the 718 above, and I will agree with you.
BMW lost me a while ago. Nice cars but nowhere near what they used to be. You're probably right about the GT4. Can't wait to get my car next week. Finally!
Walk around video of my just delivered Guard’s red 911 T - matching red interior trim and red interior bits as well. Only 109 miles so far.
wife hates the 7 speed manual already and wants me to sell this car and replace it with a PDK 911- cabriolet preferably.
Maybe I will replace it with a GT3 - lots of them available at dealers these days. But then she will complain it rides too rough and is too loud on the road.
This 911 T is louder and a more serious sports car than my 2022 Targa 4 —- Faster feeling as well.
I am thinking a PDK GTS Cabriolet would be a good substitute for the T - sneaky way of getting permission to spend even more money on a new Porsche for my little collection.
Anyone interested in a new 911 T? Private message.

@ECNJ It’s just my opinion, but generally speaking people that say Porsha rather than Porsche are of a higher intelligence.
I’m now saying Porsha and people give me admiring glances.

I have a friend who owns a GT4 (after owning a 981 GTS). Unless you want to track your car a lot, the T is a much better choice. Also, for the US, the turbocharged engine makes more sense (and torque at lower revs). You will not regret getting the T instead.
After picking up the car, on the way home, my friend was impressed how the T sounded, despite me having to keep the engine under 4000 rpm.
It was an interesting ride, but also stopped a lot to take many pictures. The nature looks great in that area.
While I patiently waited the 6 weeks from arrival at our Benecia Port until PECLA delivery last week, I've enjoyed seeing pics of your deliveries, reading about your time spent enjoying your cars, Toph's ED experience, etc.... mine is FINALLY home and I'm already in love!
Delivery Experience was amazing so well worth the 6 week wait! They let the little lady and I split the 90 mins track time (she took 30, I went 60 of course). The hardest part about the entire trip was leaving the car parked at the hotel the following day while we went to Disneyland Took the longer, scenic route via 1, to 101, to 154 through Los Padres National Forest and stopped at Pismo Beach for some quarts of our favorite clam chowder (Splash Cafe) on our way back to the Bay Area. Car goes in for PPF next week! Brought a roll of Trak Armour to PECLA and spent about 45 minutes wrapping the front of the car once the delivery experience was over. Horrible job but it served its purpose and man, do I have a new found respect for PPF installers.
Nice!
Im at my hotel in ATL now and have delivery this afternoon. The weather sucks so day 1 will clearly be about wet weather handling…..
My wife and I don’t share well - I bought her a 90 minute session so we didn’t have to split it…

I might be mistaken, but "Porscha" comes from UK/US. Ze Germans pronounce pretty clear the "e" at the end (watch the second video I posted about the Sound night, at 1:00).
The story behind the "pink pig" (as told by a museum's curator) is that an "external" engineering team had a separate opinion about what would make the 917 stable enough, but still fast for Le Mans.
They were proposing a body between the Kurzheck and the long tail versions. That car also didn't have much sponsorship (Martini didn't like the shape), so they got the permission to paint it in any way they want, if the car was quick. Also, because of the way the wide body looked, it was compared to a pig in the German press. In the end, they painted it pink (to provoke/revenge) and with the pork cuts.
The cuts' name were in German, and there was one that, originally, was written in "Swabian" dialect (Ripple), now replaced with the "high German" correspondent, Rippe.

Reason: swabbing? Swabian

DANKA! My German bro! I have a family member that’s a professor at Munchen University so I go there occasionally. Maybe we can meet up in person my next visit there. We can have a mini cars & coffee in Munchen.
Also, I agree with ur comments on the autobahn. Frustrating to drive it sometimes with folks blocking the road and too many slow speed zones LoL.

The customer service quality of "after sales" is abysmal. And this related to dealerships owned directly by BMW! Also, the cars are getting heavier and heavier.
Actually, I wanted to switch over to Porsche and get a Boxster S, in 2011, but the very long bonnet and the normally aspirated inline 6 of the Z4 made me "stay" for another decade.
Any plans with the car after picking it up? PPF/ceramic, wheels, tires, parts, etc.?
@ECNJ Luvin your work man!
Just one more example of the talent on this forum, at the top of which sits your creative genius.
BTW who’s the music from??
